HAPPY SPRING!🐴🌷
We wanted to take a moment to clarify a few things regarding Horseshoe Valley Equine Center. While the farm itself will be offered for sale at public auction at the end of this month, the veterinary practice will continue operating in a nearby location with minimal changes.

We’ve truly valued having the farm as part of the business, but I’ve decided it’s best to streamline and focus solely on the veterinary side moving forward. We look forward to serving you and you horses veterinary needs.

RABIES Alert:
*Did you know that in 2023 Pennsylvania was number one for domestic animal rabies cases in the United States?
*Did you also know that humans can be exposed to Rabies WITHOUT sustaining a bite from an infected horse? This is because contact of skin or mucosa with the saliva could be enough to transmit the disease.
*Rabies is a real risk for all horses, and a public health concern for their human caretakers! The good news is that modern vaccines are highly effective and current AAEP recommendations list rabies as one of the “core vaccines” that should be given to all equines annually to maintain immunity.
*If your horse has not had a rabies vaccine within the last 12 months, please call our office to set up an appointment to get your horses up to date. Remember, there is no treatment for rabies - Prevention is imperative for the health of horses and humans alike!

For our clients - possibly you have heard about the outbreaks of Herpes recently - MD has provided good information for protecting your animals if traveling to any of the affected areas. Hope this helps! It's always good to plan ahead and be prepared.

While the farm property that houses our veterinary practice is currently for sale, our ambulatory veterinary services are still fully operational and continuing without interruption.

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, Horseshoe Valley Equine will be closing it's office from 2:00 p.m. Friday 5/23 through Monday 5/26. We will be back in the office on Tuesday 5/27/25 at 8:30 a.m. If you are a regular client and have an emergency, please contact our emergency line as there is always a veterinarian on call!

Horseshoe Valley Equine welcomed the last foal of 2025 on Monday night - Arched/Global Campaign 2025.... but as things can sometimes go .... this one was a difficult birth. Both mare and foal were taken immediately after delivery to New Bolton for specialized after care. At time of this post both are doing well. Congrats to Best Foot Forward on this sweet filly!
