Dog Talk With Julie

Last week was a great one - we had two Introduction to Nose Work (2) class graduations! Here's Elizabeth and Heidi, Angie with Zeplin, Jennifer and Koda, Laurie and Maggie, and Mary with Slade! (not pictured, Debbie and Peter)

Get this - all the dogs but Slade are rescues or fosters still looking for their forever homes. They love nose work but would love to be adopted even more.

If you've been looking for a furry friend to start a fun dog sport with, just message me for more adoption info.

Hey all you nose work folks with dogs on odor - have you been thinking about entering an odor recognition test (ORT)? One is available in Birmingham AL on September 12! It's sponsored by Sprout and Penny Canine Foundation. Great opportunity, great organization.

For Exhibit Only Dogs (FEO): Dogs running FEO are not eligible to receive titles. FEO results will not be included in the posted ORT results. Congratulations to our second class of Introduction to Nose Work (1) graduates this week: Dee with Charlie, Elizabeth and Shelta, and Angie with Zeplin. Sweet Zeplin's doing great, but is still searching for his forever home and family. Until he finds them, Rockin P Rescue in Jacksonville AL is taking great care of him!
(Not pictured but will make up class and graduate soon - Jennifer and Quinn.)

Here's Elizabeth and Heidi at their graduation from Introduction to Nose Work (1) back in April. Why does Heidi look so sad? Well, because somehow when I posted about this class graduation, I missed her! What a rotten thing to do to a super sweet, super-hunk of a rescue dog still waiting for her forever home at Rockin P Rescue in Jacksonville, AL. I'm sorry, Heidi. I owe you some really high value treats...

Here's some pics from Week 3 of my Intro to Nose Work 1 classes - watch Dee and Charlie, Elizabeth and Shelta, Angela with Gabby, Zoe and Roxie, and Angie with Zeplin - as they transition from boxes to objects!

"Oh, can you sit for a treat, Birdie?"
"Of course I can, Julie. I'm not only a wiz at nose work, my foster Mom Jennifer is helping me with obedience basics!"

This year-old cutie is still available for adoption in Anniston, AL. Message me if you'd like more details!

Graduation was delayed as we dealt with humans' cracked ribs and busted knees, but finally the whole class completed Intro to Nose Work 1! Let's congratulate Amy with Dallas, Jennifer with Koda (and OMG, look at Koda rip up the certificate...) and Laura and Maggie. BTW Koda and Maggie are fosters and still looking to continue nose work with a forever family - msg me for more info.

I have enough students on the wait list to start a new class (or maybe two) next month. If you've been thinking about getting into the nose work fun, go to my Dog Talk with Julie website and fill out the "Contact Us" form to be included!

This week we finished up two advanced NW classes, lots of fun and friendship! The weather was beautiful for some vehicle searches.
