Two of my bucket list breeds in one pup? This sure is one handsome stud named Jack. 😁❀️

Jack the Rottweiler/Great Pyrenees has aged well for a senior twelve year old pup, hasn't he? His owner got him when he was just a little puppy and they have been inseparable since. Another perfect example of why dogs are man's best friend. ❀️

Big ole' Jack Jack came in for an evening spa day, consisting of a nail trim and Nasty Critter bath.

The owner told me Jack tips the scales at just over 100lbs. I was concerned I was gonna have to pick him up πŸ˜… but ole' Jack Jack still got hops and jumped into the tub for me.

It's very clear King Jack completely understood the assignment, demanding a full body massage during his bath and towel dry and claiming treats as a requirement. He scoffed at the blow dryer and insisted upon the happy hoodie to protect his royal hearing.

Nail trims?? HOLY FREAKING DEWCLAWS! I was grinding his nails and counted not two, but EIGHT dewclaws bringing his total to 24 nails. He was not only born a king, but also a cowboy with his rear spurs. 🀠🀠🀠

It was a privilege to care for this gentle giant and a boatload of fun. I'll see you next time, King Jack Jack. Thank you for the love, big guy. 😁πŸ’ͺ❀️😎

My first Husky since school and my first-ever Pug!

Pickle the Pug needs a nail trim and Nasty Critter bath.

Banks the Husky needs a nail trim and good Fluff Off! deshedding, so the forecast is calling for snow.

I have fallen in love with the Cocker Spaniel breed. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Two of my best friends Gracie and Scooter came back for another spa treatment a couple days ago. ❀️ The owner drove well over an hour away from home to me again, so y'all best believe in the high amount of trust that takes. 😁

Scooter is a senior 13 year old pup with some mobility struggles and recently had a battle with melanoma. The ultimate goal of his sessions at his age is strictly comfort grooms, not the perfect haircut, although I did work fast and safe to achieve a clean look.

Scooter was given many breaks throughout his session as I flat-out refuse to make a senior pup with mobility struggles stand for an extended period of time. Any time he wanted to lay down, that's when we took breaks, and I lost count of how many breaks we took.

Scooter additionally has skin tags and little bumps on his back and neck, so I could only clip him with with a 1/8th guard comb but was able to clip his legs and feet with a No.7 blade.

Gracie the six year old pup did very well for her No.7 full groom and bit of scissor work. Her ear leather is pretty long so I was only able to trim her ears so short.

Huge shoutout to Gracie and Scooter's owner for taking such good care of them, going as far as handcrafting their food every day for a couple years now which is a huge benefit for Scooter's longevity. Anything to give a pup a long and healthy life, as they are your babies and your world. ❀️

My favorite little Shi Tsu Seraphina came back for another spa treatment the other day. ❀️

Seraphina has gotten much more comfy for grooming, allowing me to do much better scissor work.

Next grooming session I have with her will be my best haircut yet, as her now-calm temperament has given me all the confidence to up my skill level. If your pup falls alseep on my table like Seraphina did, that's the ultimate bonus. 😎

A couple days ago I had the pleasure of caring for a rambunctious Aussie Shepherd named Miso and an adorable little Chow mix named Milo. ❀️

I was told Miso the Aussie is reactive toward strangers while Milo is just a chill guy. Miso hopped out of his owner's car and immediately chose violence by singing the music of his people while Milo graced me with love.

It only took just a couple minutes for Miso to open up to me and it was game over from there. 😁

Miso didn't care for the deshedding bath but tolerated the blow dryer. We'll roll with that logic although it doesn't make much sense. He did well for his sanitation trim but started all the smoke when I tried to shave out mats behind his ears.

Milo did very well for his deshedding bath and blow dry but went rogue when I tried to trim his front nails. πŸ˜…

Overall, Miso the Aussie and Milo the Chow mix did well for their first time here. Miso was a little horndog trying mount Milo during playtime. At least buy him treats first.

Some pet grooming appointments don't go as planned. Sometimes it ain't about sunshine.

How do you adapt? How do you thrive when you come face to face with a challenging pupper?

This is Skeeter the big ole' poodle mix. ❀️

I was warned by the owner he would need to be muzzled for his nail trims and grooming his legs and feet.

Skeeter has skin sensitivity issues which would explain why he tried to bite me when I tried to pet his fany and lower back to inspect his fur, telling me to get my dirty human paws off of his majesty. The owner requested I use his medicated sensitivity shampoo he brought as part of his bath, and obviously I obliged.

Skeeter was a 110% good boi for his thorough bath and was perfect for the velocity dryer, allowing me to actually touch his sensitive areas without hostility afterwards...
..except for his legs and feet. πŸ˜… He turned hostile when I shaved his legs, trying to munch on the clippers of doom. Thank goodness for my lightning-quick reflexes and observing his body language as he didn't injure himself.

I don't muzzle dogs unless it's a last resort, but it was time to break it out so I could shave his legs and feet. The muzzle was for his protection against bite contact with the clippers, eliminating the risk of potentially breaking a tooth or cutting his tongue or gums.

The muzzle was not necessarily for my protection. I genuinely couldn't care less if I get bit. If I do get bit, tape me up and put me back in the game, coach, so I can give positive affirmations to the pup and keep it a good experience. 😎

Skeeter had enough of my nonsense when I turned off the clippers for the final time and he laid down on the cool tile floor and dozed off. I took advantage of this perfect opportunity to perform his face scissor work laying down next to him, with his head resting on my hand and nodding off to sleep like the absolute king he is. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Despite the minor inconveniences thrown Skeeter's way, he did very well. His owner does a remarkable job maintaining his coat, so the only real test was adjusting to his unique needs.

Skeeter is only the fifth dog I've had to muzzle since I started business, and my approach to pet grooming is different compared to others. I use as few restraints as possible to care for your pup, with Skeeter only requiring the traditional grooming loop and muzzle only when needed. No Groomer's Helper nor belly band was used. Less restraints, much less stress for your pup.

See ya next time, Skeeter! 😁❀️πŸ’ͺ😎

"Tales of the Furry Turd Burglar"

Once upon a time there were three rescues by the names of Baby Girl, Luna and Abby. ❀️

All three little puppers enjoy playin' outdoors and have the time of their lives, with activities such as fetch, tag, DoggyDoggyE wrastlin' and Doggy in the Middle.

Ticks are bad, m'kay? All three pups are on flea/tick prevention, but down in their neck of the Hundred Acre Woods a few of those annoying tick stragglers are bound to disturb the peace. Just to be sure, the owner requested a tick treatment with their Nasty Critter baths.

We congregated in my humble little shop. Everything is organized and CLEAN. The owner and I start chatting and two of the puppers immediately turned into lap dogs. Little did we know our ongoing conversation was a distraction from the inevitable.

The owner just so happened to look down on the floor behind her and saw a horrific sight: a giant dookie pile in the shape of chunky peanut butter cookie dough with a few chocolate sprinkles. The owner apologetically cleaned up the mush, we chatted for a bit more then she headed off to work.

Abby the little black pupper thought to herself, "Well if my sibling can drop a deuce on the floor, then I too shall pass decadent fudge rounds and deliver them straight onto said floor."

I haven't wretched this hard in a long time. The putrid odor stung my nostrils. My nose filed a temporary restraining order.

After the brown mist cleared, it was time for their baths. One by one, each pupper was lifted into my tub for a luxurious Nasty Critter tick bath and towel dry. Full body massages were upgraded to premium pampering, as if they weren't premium enough.

Speaking of Pampers, Abby's bootyhole stank. There's nothing more demoralizing than scrubbing a sphincter after a fresh Cleveland Steamer comes chugging into the picture, but duty calls.

Hehe; he said doody.

The finale came. Full body massages were upgraded to the Ultimate package when the towels came into play, with all three puppers looking and feeling relaxed, no cap on God fr fr skibidi fam or whatever the cool kids are saying these days.

After receiving royal bandanas to enhance the cuteness overload, we engaged in a little photo shoot and playtime, with the puppers devouring more of my treat inventory. Unfortunately for me it was time for them to go, so I gave Baby Girl, Luna and Abby lots more love and we parted ways.

This ain't a goodbye, it's an 'I'll see ya later' because I know they'll be back again for more love, treats and shenanigans.

Shoutout to the owner and her sweet rescues for the hospitality. And shoutout to you for reading. 😎 Thank y'all for supporting me on this new journey. I enjoy every last bit of what I do. ❀️

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of caring for this beautiful German Shepherd mix named Ayo. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Ayo used to live life on an outside chain her entire life, but now she has been given a second chance at a good life in a forever home. ❀️

This was Ayo's first professional grooming appointment. She needed a good deshedding and a desperate sanitation trim as she had severe skin-tight matting on her entire fany that had to be shaved off.

Ayo was very hesitant about being around me, and it took her just over a half hour before she was comfortable with me.

She was not a fan of having the matting shaved off her fany, singing like a siren every time it was touched.

Nail trims? Her constant side eye told me she wanted to give my hand a nibble nibble, but my gentle handling skills suppressed her desire to treat my hand as a free sample.

Deshedding bath and coat blowout? Her vocal range landed her at the top of the Billboard Hot Dog 100 chart.

The final brushout landed her an audition for Pawmerican Idol.

Overall, Ayo did very well. She eventually got so comfortable with me she allowed me to give her big bear cuddles. πŸ₯°

I'll see you next time, you big gentle bear. ❀️
