Meet the Team Monday!🐾 💙

Meet Jill! She has been with AVIM&O for a total of 10 years. She started as a technician before moving into the role of Practice Manager for our Hunt Valley location.

What Jill loves most about her job is being able to connect with the families and pets that come to us for help and reassurance. She also makes herself available to her team and is a great pillar of streangth and comfort.

Outside of work, Jill is a happy mother of 2 beautiful kids, 3 cats, and 1 silly one-eyed dog. They keep her on her toes 😂.

Fun facts about Jill:
💉 Jill has been type 1 diabetic since she was 11 years old
😻 Her favorite animal is cats
☕ Jill LOVES coffee!!
🧸 All her freetime is spent playing with her kids

🎉 🐾 Celebrating Graduation!!🐾 🎉

Meet Watcher! This handsome, sweet boy came to AVIM&O Hunt Valley last November with a diagnosis of lymphoma. For his first visit with us, Watcher came in muzzled with a cautionary warning from his mom that he is anxious and protective of her. Despite that, Dr. Rusk and team were happy to start working with him and got treatments started that day, moving at his pace. No one can explain Watcher better than his mom, so we'll share her words on his journey.

"Watcher is a very affectionate and intelligent 5 year old GSD. His favorite activities include: cuddles, playing with toys, swimming, and getting pup cups. He also does exceptionally well at scent games, quickly finding hidden objects. Watcher has enjoyed living much of his life in the UK and has been on many adventures. He loves to visit new places, especially if there is a beach.

Watcher developed fear reactivity at a young age. We promptly sought guidance from trainers and a behaviorist who have given much praise to how gentle and obedient he is, he only lacks self-confidence. He is also protective of his owners and this presents as quite a big bark. Watcher was muzzle trained to help him and his owners feel more at ease, however, once you get to know him it becomes obvious he doesn’t require a muzzle. His vet and his groomer feel confident to take it off when he goes for appointments. Dr Rusk and the team at AVIMO have been very sensitive to his needs and quickly made him feel comfortable without a muzzle.

Watcher is loyal, always happy, and would choose to live outdoors if his mom came with him. He is one of a kind and we are grateful to have him with us!"- Watcher's mom ❤️

Every Monday you’ll have the chance to get to know one of our amazing team members whether they are a CSR, Veterinary Assistant, Veterinary Technician, Clinical or Administrative staff member, or Doctor. We are so excited to introduce ourselves and connect more with our community!

This week, we’re highlighting Allison, one of our incredible ICU Technicians at Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology in Annapolis!

Allison has been part of the AVIMO family for almost 4 years and loves seeing the difference advanced medical care can make for complex cases. She’s also passionate about supporting pet owners through difficult decisions and helping provide comfort during challenging moments.

Outside of work, Allison spends her time with her 3 dogs, her boyfriend, and enjoying margaritas whenever she can. Her dogs even inspired her to start a small handmade pet bandana business! ☀️🐶
