Remember Luca? The 3 year old cocker spaniel who had zero confidence and was afraid of anything and everything? Causing him to flee from any sight of “trouble” or “danger”?

Let’s take a look at him now! Through training, he has discovered a whole new world full of freedom and fun! He is now fully off leash trained and reliable. And that silly nervousness? Well let’s just say that’s a thing of the past and he is enjoying his best life!

Meet Wiley! He is a 1.5 year old mix breed dog who is here for the next 4 weeks to learn all of the basics and advanced commands. He is a very nervous boy, so as you can see in this photo we are starting right away with some confidence building exercises and real world exposure training.

Chia is having a blast playing with her all time favorite toy… the flirt pole! But, why JUST play, when we can incorporate training and continued education?!

So here you have it!

She can quickly turn her switch “on” and run and play… and then just as quickly turn her switch “off” and jump right into command. She is able to control her impulse to continue playing with her favorite toy by listening to me and following command… and her reward? Well to keep playing!

After training these basic obedience commands… this is one of the many ways I incorporate her knowledge into real world situations and scenarios! It helps keep her sharp and like they say… if you don’t use it, you lose it! So I constantly incorporate training and continued education into all scenarios! This is just one example.

There is always more training and more advancing, so don’t stop with just the basics! Continue working distance, distraction and duration work into everything you do together!

Rex is a 10 month old Belgian Malinois at Home Depot working on his distraction training and proofing the “art of doing nothing” in the face paced real world.

Meet our board and train, Luca! He is a 3 year old English Cocker Spaniel who is here to learn all of his basic, advanced and off leash obedience, as well as general calmness and relaxed state of mind.

He is a nervous guy who hasn’t had a lot of exposure to the fast paced real world outside of his home.

As you can see in the video he is very much in “flight” mode with every step I make towards him. However, he is extremely food motivated and I will use that to my advantage during training.

At home, he has also become infamous for jumping up on his owner’s kitchen chairs and helping himself to anything and everything on the counters….

VERY DANGEROUS behavior that could be fatal if it isn’t corrected.

After his training, he will be a more confident, calm, trusted and happy dog who has a much larger life ahead of him!

Romeo out practicing his “calm on command” and impulse control in a crowded public setting. He was 5 months old in this video and is rocking his skills!

People may look at this video and not think much of it… but here is what I want you to ask yourself… Can YOUR dog do that? Most people will say absolutely not. And they just leave their dogs at home because they “don’t know how to act right in public”.

Well I’m here to say that this should be the SIMPLEST of expectations that you expect your dog to be able to do. But, without proper training and exposure… it’s not going to happen.

So let’s do better together!
