Lone Star Dog Ranch & Dog Ranch Rescue

Lone Star Dog Ranch & Dog Ranch Rescue The Lone Star Dog Ranch is a one of a kind cage free boarding facility 30 minutes north of Dallas in Anna, Texas. The rescue's website is dogranchrescue.com

Here dogs are free to play, swim, sleep, and be loved as they wish, all day. There are many things about Lone Star Dog Ranch that make it
unique and better than any other daycare or boarding facility. We are truly one of a kind. We are a completely social facility. The only time your dog will be confined is for meals and sleep. The rest of their time is theirs to enjoy themselves while you are awa

y enjoying yourself. Dogs are free to swim, play with other dogs, lay under a shade tree, sleep on the couch in the air conditioning or go back to bed and be alone if they want. They can choose to go inside the ranch building or outside anytime they want. We are an all inclusive facility. We don’t charge any extra for playtime, extra hugs, one on one time, swimming, laptime, special food, medication or any other special requirement. Everything is included in the boarding and day care rates. All dogs that stay with us must pass our evaluation to ensure that they can get along with everyone. For this reason we also require that all dogs be spayed or neutered

Lone Star Dog Ranch is family owned and operated and all of us live on the property. The dogs are never left unattended. The care here is unmatched anywhere. Dog Ranch Rescue is a completely separate entity from Lone Star Dog Ranch. It began in 2015 and The Village Sanctuary building housing the rescues is on the same 32 acres. All inquiries about rescue dogs is handled by email at [email protected] and the website for the rescue is dogranchrescue.com. Please don’t call Lone Star Dog Ranch for questions about the rescue, you will be sent to the email address above to correspond with any questions about Dog Ranch Rescue.

We are all shaken with this story, I will write a warning right here up front and make it abundantly clear, this is a horrific story, if you cannot handle it, WALK AWAY AND DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.

This is his story, and his suffering and to not tell his story isn’t fair, he mattered and he was abused in a way that we have never encountered.

Dr. Roach called me to tell me this dog is near death, he is in shock, he is septic, his temp is 93 degrees but what he said next shook me to my core, he said this dog has no a**l tone, and is bleeding from his re**um. He said it seems this dog has been abused, he has wounds that are not indicative of a dog attack. I hope you understand what we are saying, this dog had been sexually assaulted. What it seems that we have here is a psychopath animal abuser that this dog fell victim to. We are told he was found in a backyard that was locked, did he live there? Or was he discarded over a fence? We don’t know.

He said he has never encountered anything like it, and we have not either. It is beyond horrific, I cannot wrap my head around it. We deal with abuse, and suffering every single day, but never something like this.

Dr Roach is writing the report for the shelter to have and they will investigate and see what they can learn, but I hold little hope for there to be any kind of justice here for this sweet little man that never, ever ever should have had to endure a monster attacking him in this way. We thank Dr Roach and his staff for gently and quietly helping him over the bridge to end his suffering.

I simply cannot even comprehend. I need to just close the page after this, I don’t have a goodnight post, I have a horrible disgusting post, but it’s important that this dog got his story told, he did not die without his story being told. 😭

Rachel Pennant first reached out about a year ago, still grieving the loss of her heart dog, Tofu. We completed nearly the entire adoption process, but when it came time to meet the dogs, the sorrow was still too heavy. Anyone who has loved and lost knows—you never truly “get over” it, but eventually your heart finds enough space to open again.

When Rachel saw MacGyver, something in him reminded her of Tofu—not as a replacement, but as a chance to love another deserving dog. And MacGyver, who may soon answer to the name Crouton, made sure she knew she was choosing well. When he came into the lobby to meet Rachel and her mother, Jean (now officially Grandma), he was pure charm: snuggling into laps, rolling over for belly rubs, and tossing in a few joyful zoomies for good measure.

The rest unfolded exactly as it was meant to. MacGyver is heading home to Dallas, TX, where he’ll be adored beyond measure—and we’ve already been told they’ve signed up for Happy Tails. A beautiful new life for him!

The shelter in Oklahoma City reached out with an emergency, they have this sweet little man who is badly injured attacked by dogs that needs help asap. Trish is in her way to get him and take him to Dr Roach to get him some help.

At this point we don’t know if there is an owner, but right now we just have to focus on the dog and deal with the rest of it later.

I’ll keep you updated
