This sweet boy has been waiting 100 days for someone to choose him. He watches his doggie friends get adopted! And still… he waits.

Elmer isn’t the dog who barks at the kennel door to get attention. He sits quietly in a corner as people pass him by. But once he’s outside? He shines!

Elmer is:
• a super sweet, affectionate love bug
• amazing on leash
• great on car rides
• knows SIT and SHAKE
• loves to play with dog friends
• appears to be potty trained
• ready to give someone true unconditional love

We would to share a deeply personal update with you.

After so many wonderful years caring for your beloved pets, we will soon be relocating to Portugal. While we are excited for this new chapter in our lives, saying goodbye to this part of our journey (and to all of you) is truly bittersweet.

Avery’s Animal Care has never just been a business to us. It has been built on relationships, trust, and the joy of caring for your furry, feathered, and scaled family members. We have celebrated new puppies and kittens, cared for senior pets, learned all their quirks, and loved each one as if they were our own. The bonds we’ve formed with both you and your pets mean more to us than we can fully express.

Because of how much this means to us, it was incredibly important to find the “right” people to continue what we started. We are so happy to share that a compassionate husband and wife team will be taking over and continuing the same level of dedicated care. Moving forward, Avery’s Animal Care has become “Happy Tails Animal Care”!

Our last day of service will be April 21, 2026.

Your pet’s care can continue seamlessly with the new owners!

The same love, reliability, and attention to detail will remain a priority!

They are truly excited to meet you and carry on these relationships!

When choosing your pets monthly heart worm preventative, don’t forget to ask you vet about one that includes flea and tick prevention as well.

If you do find your pets have picked up fleas (which will become more prevalent as the weather gets warmer) please treat your yard as well. ❤️

Please remember our local shelter when rehoming pet products this year. ❤️

It’s best to launder used toys, used doggie beds and blankets, towels etc. in free and clear detergent prior to donating. ❤️

Adopted!

Today could be our lucky day! It could be the day we both meet our new best friends! All you have to do is come in and ask to meet a pawesome girl that happens to be me! Coco (58447755) is my name and being a sweet, affectionate 2 year old Staffie mix is my thang! I’m beautiful, happy and perfect size at 40lbs! I can’t wait to meet you so we can start our new beginnings.
