This smiley boy is Vincent Van Dogge!

He's about 4 years old and, easy and well-mannered on walks, with a happy wiggling tail nub and excited pitter-patter feet when you greet him!

Because Vincent is gentle and appreciates gentleness from others, he'd prefer not to live with kids under 12 and must meet any potential doggy siblings before adoption. He'd do best in a home without cats! Don't make him wait -- come meet Vincent today or call us at 734-662-5585 to learn more ❤️

Looking for a way to soothe the blues after returning to work and school after the long weekend? Celebrate some paw-some adoptions with us 🥳🐾💕

Hats off to the dogs Kai, Jiji, Ernie, and Rudy
and the cats Berna and Orna, Foldable Beach Chair, Strawberry Matcha, PB&J Swirl, Lota Lota, Nori, Crepe, Captain Cosmos, and Lola!

We are especially happy for Ernie, a handsome guy who came to us as a stray in June. Ernie has always been a sweet, charming, gentle guy, but he had some medical needs we had to clear up before he went home. Thankfully, he got everything he needed (3 eye surgeries!) and even spent some time with one of our wonderful foster families! Ernie found a loving, fun new family and we are absolutely over the moon for him.

HSHV is open tomorrow from the hours of 11 AM until 6 PM to help you find your new perfect match!

Congrats to the cutest pals who all found their furever homes today:
the dogs Boogie, and to the cats Antonio, Alabama, Sneasel, Canoe Mississippi, Daft, Hobbiton, Blanche, and Frank! I am sorry to say we are closed tomorrow for labor day. All of the animals will be waiting for you to visit again on Tuesday from the hours of 11 AM until 7PM to help you find your new best friend 🐾❤🌟

Oakland University has installed the first pond leveler which solves human/beaver conflict humanely. ❤️

A pair of beavers dammed a creek at Oakland University and caused flooding. Officials are keeping the beavers, but hope to stop the flooding.
