Train the Trainer + Her Dog.
I didn’t have (m)any expectations going into CANIS Conference, in that, it’s Mollee’s first major travel/working conference with me…and let’s see what happens.
One of our working spots was in CB K9’s The Art of Play. Now, I am *perfectly* comfortable with food as toy and motivator, AND ALSO would love to build Moll’s toy play in less familiar environments. So, that was our goal.
Crystal passes around index cards to the audience and has them make notes about what they *love* seeing in the working team. We had 2 play sessions: a 90-second warmup and a 5 minute “let’s try.”
So much lovely feedback, a couple head scratchers, and this one. THIS made me wet-eyed. I have *hoped* that Mollee and I have been weaving a lovely relationship the last 10 months and it *feels* like we are. Being seen as a partnership…well, being SEEN feels amazing.
Whomever wrote this, thank you.
Educators of all flavors: (continue to ) do more building up of all the people you touch.
We are exhausted and cup-full.
(Kenna may never forgive…)
