Lookin' for love (and snacks!)
Meet Jango, from our recent J2 litter with Enigma “Roulette” and Unni (DOB Aug 1, 2026). This handsome boy is looking for a home with lots of love, lots of cuddles, lots of toys and lots of food.
He’s a big, stocky guy with great structure and a huge, manly head. He also has some hair extensions… though we’re not sure how much. He looked like a normal stock coat puppy until around 7 weeks, and then fringe developed. He still looks mostly like a stock coat puppy, except those flowing locks around his ears. Genetically he’s probably a long coat, though he is no where near the puffball level of his coatie littermates or any of the other obviously long coated puppies we’ve had over the years. Anyone familiar with sables knows that they go through so many coat color changes in the first year or two that you really have no idea what color the final adult will be. Jango has decided to double down on the “what will he look like?” question by adding hair amount to hair color. There’s no question he’ll be absolutely gorgeous, but his adult floof level is anyone’s guess at this point.
Personality wise, this guy is just as lovely as he looks. High drive and energy, but not nutso and he settles well once his needs are met. He’d make a great companion for an active, experienced GSD home and an amazing training partner for a variety of dogsports. He is a bit of a softer, more sensitive soul and while he has the drive and grip for protection sports he doesn’t really have the hardness to excel at it. Playing tug and chasing toys, yes please! Fighting with bad guys and beating them up, probably not so much. He could be a fun club level dog for someone who wanted to give it a try and do some club level titling, but he isn't taking anyone to high levels.
All the other dog sports out there? Yeah, bring ‘em on! He has the whole package to be an easy and fun dog to train in just about any activity: great environmentals, very outgoing and social, tons of toy drive, “sell his soul for a piece of kibble” level food drive, super engagement. He definitely has the hunt drive and sniffer obsession that we’ve come to expect from Unni babies, and he would really excel in nosework/scentwork, barn hunt, tracking and similar venues.
Jango is crate trained, including sleeping overnight, well on his way to housebreaking and already has hundreds of travel miles under his collar riding back and forth to dog events and random outings. He’s very well socialized, started on basic obedience skills (his sit for snacks is top notch!) and house manners. Vet checked, UTD on vaccines, clear f***l. He’s ready to go to the right home. Like all our puppies he comes with AKC limited registration, microchip, health warranty and lifetime breeder support.
