🐾 They can’t tell us what hurts. They can’t tell us when they’re scared. They can’t explain why they behave the way they do.
So it’s our job to learn.
Bonnie and Natalie are in Chicago at the CANIS Conference, continuing our education in canine behavior, communication, welfare and safety.
We’re learning alongside veterinarians, veterinary behaviorists, trainers, scientists and researchers who are dedicated to understanding animals and improving their lives.
Because behavior is communication. A tucked tail, a growl, a shutdown, a reaction… these are all ways our dogs are trying to tell us something.
The more we understand, the better we can recognize stress, fear and discomfort, keep animals safer, and advocate for their needs.
We don’t attend opportunities like this because we think we know everything.
We go because there is always more to learn.
They may not have a voice like ours…
but they have us. ❤️🐾
And we’ll keep learning, growing and speaking up for them.
For their wellbeing. For their safety. For the animals who depend on us.
