Everyone help us welcome Millie to K10 Professional Dog Training!

Millie is a rescue American Bulldog joining us for Level 3 training. A big part of her program will be focused on socialization, helping her build confidence, stay calm in new environments, and learn how to handle people, dogs, sounds, movement, and other distractions in a more controlled and reliable way.

Along with socialization, we’ll be working on stronger obedience, better focus, clear communication, and dependable real-world behavior. For a rescue dog, giving them structure and helping them understand what is expected can make a huge difference in how confidently they move through the world.

We’re excited to watch Millie progress and see how much she grows throughout the program. Follow along as she works toward becoming a more confident, balanced, and reliable dog.

Welcome to the K10 family, Millie!

Lucy took her training on the road with a trip to Tractor Supply!

Real-world training is where all of the foundation work starts getting tested. During this outing, Lucy worked on maintaining focus, obedience, and good manners while dealing with new people, sounds, smells, movement, and all of the other distractions that come with being out in public. Socialization isn’t just about meeting people or other dogs — it’s about learning how to stay calm, confident, and responsive no matter what is going on around you.

For a future service dog like Lucy, these kinds of outings are especially important. She needs to be able to work reliably in busy environments while staying focused on her handler and ignoring distractions around her.

Of course, we had to take a little break from training for a Halloween/Fall photo op too!

Lucy is continuing to make great progress, and we’re excited to keep pushing her skills into more challenging real-world environments.

Most of the time they really do remember their trainers.

Oscar is a service dog that we’ve had the privilege of working with in partnership with VOW22 for a veteran in our community. His owner was recently watching one of our videos where we were talking about puppy behavior and training, and Oscar immediately started looking around for us. Once he figured out where our voices were coming from, he found us on the TV!

He went in front of the TV watching, tilting his head, making little noises, and clearly trying to figure out why we were on the screen instead of there with him. 😂🐶 Moments like this are a great reminder of the relationships we build with the dogs that come through our program.

Oscar has put in a lot of work on his journey toward becoming a dependable service dog, and we’re proud to be a part of that process alongside VOW22. Keep up the good work, Oscar — and of course, we miss you too! We can't wait until the next time we get to see you!
