Work flow has been greatly hindered in the last 5 work days because after 26 years we are transitioning to a modern, updated computer management system. The learning curve is steep. Frustration can definitely run high for all doctors, techs who have to actually learn the system, and clients who have to wait. In the long run this will streamline records, increase client communication and make us more efficient with inventory. It’s a very difficult transition and the process can be tough at times.

Thank you for loving us. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. Thank you for your patience during this process. It’s necessary and will be beneficial. It’s all a part of our unprecedented growth of the last 5 years. Growing pains.

Today, this afternoon the Sept 17th, our clinic will be operating with limited capabilities due to scheduled internet and server down time. We are hopeful this will revamp our poor internet and phone service problems that we frequently experience.

During this time, some of our normal services and communication systems (phone, internet, and access to patient records) will be temporarily unavailable.

This is “scheduled” 1-5pm but we are contingent upon it lasting until 6pm. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this interruption.

Hey, folks. To all our show folks, FFA, 4-H, etc. of which I have participated in, supported and led areas of ALL my life…quick public service announcement.

If we haven’t seen livestock for you in the last year or you are a new client or we are unfamiliar with your husbandry situation, it’s not legal for a Andrews Veterinary Clinic professional (or any for that matter) to dispense a prescription medication without a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship. (See photo for details). That means antibiotics, some vitamins and anti inflammatory meds, to list a few.

If we decline to just “give you a shot”, that is why. We aren’t trying to be difficult, we aren’t trying to “suck money out of you” but we ARE going to follow the law. Why?: because there are a lot of people (thousands actually) that depend on the health of my veterinary license in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Kansas. Not to mention the licensing of my associates as well. Dealing with the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners is not pleasant, causes stomach ulcers, stress and loss of years to a veterinarian’s life span.

I realize it’s inconvenient and I realize you may be able to find “a good ol boy” to hook you up, or your breeder…this isn’t legal practice, does nothing to help the face of the livestock industry, and doesn’t likely follow quality counts guidelines either.

We want to help and are willing…but we will follow the law. Thank you for trying to understand.

It is with mixed emotions that we share that Dr. Alli Garcia will be leaving our practice as she moves out of the area.

For more than two years, Dr Garcia has been a valued member of our veterinary team. Her compassion, dedication, knowledge, and genuine love for her patients have touched the lives of so many pets and their families. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has brought to our practice and community.

While we are certainly sad to see her go, we are excited for her as she begins this new chapter. Please join us in wishing Dr Garcia and her family safe travels, continued success, and happiness in their new home!

Dr Garcia, you will be greatly missed by all of us - and by the many patients and families who have had the pleaure in knowing you. Thank you for being such a wonder part of our practice family! ❤
