Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital MVAH has been providing compassionate and quality care to our community’s canine and feline companions since 1989.

Our goal is to continue to offer comprehensive wellness, medical and surgical services in a comfortable, family-type atmosphere. We specialize in routine annual exams and vaccines. We also specialize in spay/neuter, microchipping, canine/feline dental cleanings/extractions, planned C-sections, and cruciate ligament repairs. On site we have a stocked pharmacy and carry preventative medications such

as flea, tick, and heartworm products, as well as antibiotics, thyroid medications, etc. Our hospital also stocks Purina, Hill's, and Royal Canin prescription diets as well as Annamaet Pet Foods. We also have a full compliment of staff that can help answer all of your questions. The appointment date and time may be subject to change, depending on Dr. Nelson's health. Please monitor your email and our page as your appointment date and time nears for the most current updates. In the event of an emergency outside of our normal business hours, please seek care at one of the following ER's. *** Quick office update & wonderful news ***

Just a quick update! I realized I forgot to mention in the last newsletter that our office will be closing at 1:00 PM next Tuesday, September 1st, as Dr. Alicia has a prior commitment. She will still be seeing appointments that morning up until we close.

I currently have so many notes on my desk with different dates, reminders, and changes that I think I may need a secretary just to keep myself organized! Trying to get everything in order before I leave next week has been quite a task. So, I apologize for missing this in the last newsletter.

But now for the best news! ❤️

Dr. Mike had his MRI yesterday, and we are incredibly happy and thankful to share that his results were good. There has been no change to the tumor and no new areas of concern. We couldn't have asked for better news.

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the continued prayers, love, and support. Please keep those prayers coming — they are working! 🙏❤️

Thank you all for continuing to keep Dr. Mike in your thoughts and prayers. It means more than you know.

Important: August Office Schedule Changes

Dear Valued Clients,

I can't believe August is right around the corner—where did the summer go?

With vacation season in full swing, I wanted to let you know about several upcoming changes to our office hours during the month of August. As many of you know, we are a small team, and coordinating staff vacations while maintaining our surgery schedule requires us to make a few temporary adjustments.

Please save or print this email for future reference, as there are several dates when our office hours will be different.

Office Opens at 1:00 PM
On the following dates, our office will open at 1:00 PM so our team can perform scheduled surgeries during the morning:

Monday, August 3
Thursday, August 6
Monday, August 10
Thursday, August 13
Thursday, August 20
Please note: On these days, our phones will not be turned on until 12:00 PM. You are welcome to send us a text message at any time, but if we are in surgery, we may not be able to respond immediately. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Office Closes at 3:00 PM
Our office will close early at 3:00 PM on the following dates due to staff vacations and continuing education meetings:

Tuesday, August 4th
Tuesday, August 11th
Office Closed
Our office will be closed on Wednesday, August 26, as Dr. Mike has a scheduled MRI and several follow-up medical appointments that day. As always, we would appreciate prayers for continued good news.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through vacation schedules while continuing to provide the highest quality care for your pets. We apologize for any inconvenience these temporary schedule changes may cause and thank you for your continued support of Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital.

*** As of 3pm, we are back up and running! ***

**** ATTENTION **** Dr. Mike was notified at 10:30 this morning that we had a power outage. Our power has since been restored, however, now our WiFi is down. We use the internet for EVERYTHING at the clinic. Without it our office phone doesn’t work, our scheduling program, credit card machine, etc. If you have been trying to reach us, please text us at 570-565-0570. We do have some access to text messages via a mobile hotspot from our cell phone. I currently am on the phone with PTD to get the problem resolved.
