This week, we want to give a HUGE shout-out to our amazing veterinary technicians and support staff at Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital! 🐶🐱

Veterinary medicine is so much more than what happens in the exam room. It’s the early mornings, the long days, the messy moments, the comforting hugs, the endless patience, and the unconditional love you give to every patient who walks through our doors. ❤️

Our team works hard behind the scenes every single day to keep your pets healthy, comfortable, and safe. From assisting with surgeries and monitoring anesthesia to drawing blood, administering medications, answering questions, and giving extra cuddles to those who need them, our team does it all!

Being a veterinary professional takes a special kind of heart. It means celebrating the victories, comforting worried pet parents, and sometimes loving our patients through the hardest moments. It takes compassion, dedication, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart. 🐾

Vet Tech Appreciation Week & Upcoming Schedule Changes! 🐾

Our veterinary technicians are an important part of what makes our hospital special, and we want to take some time to celebrate and recognize all the hard work, dedication, and compassion they bring to our patients and clients every day! ❤️

In honor of Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, our office will be closed for one hour on the following days so we can show our amazing team just how much they are appreciated:

📅 Monday, October 19: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
📅 Tuesday, October 20: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
📅 Thursday, October 22: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

We will also be closed on Tuesday, October 27, as Dr. Alicia will be unavailable.

Please plan accordingly if you need to pick up medications, food, or other items during these times.

🎉 WITH ALL THE BAD NEWS IN THE WORLD, HERE COMES SOME GOOD NEWS! 💙

We have not one, but TWO exciting announcements to share today! 🥰

👶 First up, welcome to the world, Abraham Thomas! 💙

Little Abraham, affectionately known as “Hammy,” made his grand entrance at 4:53 AM on October 8th, weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. and measuring 19.5 inches long! Both Jess and little Hammy are doing well, and we couldn't be happier for them.

Congratulations to Jess & David on the newest addition to your family! ❤️ We can't wait to watch this little guy grow!

🎉 But wait… there's MORE good news!

We also just found out that Dr. Mike is going to be a GRANDPA! 🥹💙 A little boy is expected to arrive in mid-February, and needless to say, Grandpa-to-be is SUPER excited!

Congratulations to Dr. Mike & Kristen! And an extra BIG congratulations to Joe & Brooke, who are about to embark on the adventure of parenthood! ❤️ After all, you can't have grandparents without parents! 😂💙

With so much negativity in the world, we think these two little boys are the perfect reminders that there is still so much joy, love, and happiness to celebrate.

HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL!

I was only gone for TWO WEEKS, and I can’t believe how much the weather has changed already! A few days ago I was laying on the beach in 104° weather, and now I’m home reaching for sweatpants and a hoodie!

I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves!

We have two upcoming schedule changes to remind everyone about:

Tuesday, September 29th
We will be CLOSING AT 3:00 PM. Dr. Alicia has a prior commitment that afternoon.

Friday, October 2nd
OUR OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY.

Please plan ahead for appointments, medication refills, and food orders!

Good morning! 💙
Our office will be opening today at 1:00 PM.

We received word from Jessica this morning that she believes she is in labor! 🍼❤️ Tia and I are not back in the office until tomorrow, and Maya and Stacy will both be in surgery today.

Because of this, we will not have anyone available to answer phone calls or assist with pickups until after lunch.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! We’ll see everyone this afternoon. 😊

*** Quick office update & wonderful news ***

Just a quick update! I realized I forgot to mention in the last newsletter that our office will be closing at 1:00 PM next Tuesday, September 1st, as Dr. Alicia has a prior commitment. She will still be seeing appointments that morning up until we close.

I currently have so many notes on my desk with different dates, reminders, and changes that I think I may need a secretary just to keep myself organized! Trying to get everything in order before I leave next week has been quite a task. So, I apologize for missing this in the last newsletter.

But now for the best news! ❤️

Dr. Mike had his MRI yesterday, and we are incredibly happy and thankful to share that his results were good. There has been no change to the tumor and no new areas of concern. We couldn't have asked for better news.

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the continued prayers, love, and support. Please keep those prayers coming — they are working! 🙏❤️

Thank you all for continuing to keep Dr. Mike in your thoughts and prayers. It means more than you know.
