Millie just completed force fetch and running marks 💪🏽
Many discussions out there on force fetch vs no force fetch.
Force fetch is not all about the hold, it’s the dog understanding the obedience and formality behind the retrieve. This sets the dog up for success in the complexity in future phases and training. Understanding indirect pressure is super important throughout the dogs career and we believe in clear communication in order to have a confident and successful hunting dog in the home and field.
For example you see Millie wanted to look at the camera man a little distracted not a big deal. I gave her a here command with a small nick with the collar. No reaction, no dropping bumper, no defaulting to anything out of confusion. It’s clear, it’s fair, and it’s successful for the dog. Proper collar conditioning leads to successful force fetch and future training. The electric collar is used as a guidance/communication tool than as a punishment.
Millie is out of our Rasta x Willis litter. This girl has a lot of drive and desire! We see a bright future in Millie girl.
