🐕🦺 K9 DEMI IS OFF TO WORK! 🚔
Extremely grateful for the opportunity the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has given me and V3 to serve as a K9 vendor for their agency.
As most people know, I take a tremendous amount of pride in my past in law enforcement. Although I’m no longer wearing the uniform, this side of our business has become my way of continuing to give back to the Blue and helping put quality K9 teams on the road.
Today, we got to see K9 Demi off as she heads to her new home and begins her career with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Livingston County originally hired us to go out and locate the right K9 for their agency. But we operate a little differently than a traditional K9 vendor.
When an agency purchases a “green dog” from V3, our goal is to provide a lot more than a dog that simply has drive.
We want to provide a dog that has been properly selected for that specific agency and already has a foundation underneath them before they ever enter handler school.
About four weeks ago, I selected Demi. Livingston County told us to hammer down and get to work, so that’s exactly what we did.
Over the last four weeks, Demi has been introduced to and developed foundations in:
🐾 Tracking
🐾 Article work
🐾 Narcotics detection
🐾 Obedience
🐾 Building searches
🐾 Criminal apprehension
Is she a finished police dog? Absolutely not. That’s what handler school, continued training, and years of work with her handler are for.
But she isn’t leaving us as just a dog with “drive” either. She is leaving with a foundation, an understanding of the work, and a head start toward becoming a successful working K9.
More importantly, our relationship with an agency doesn’t end when the dog leaves our facility.
Every K9 we place comes with lifetime training support from us at no additional cost. If an agency or handler needs help with that dog six months from now, two years from now, or five years from now, we want that phone call.
Selling the dog isn’t the finish line. Seeing that dog succeed throughout its career is.
We’re looking forward to watching what Demi and her future handler accomplish together and seeing her get to work on the streets of Livingston County.
A huge thank you to our friends at Hop River Shepherds for trusting us with Demi and allowing us to help turn her natural ability into a career serving a community.
Good luck, Demi. Now go to work. 💪🐕🦺🚔
