So what did Johnna and I do this week? 😂🐴

As any good receptionist does when she’s caught up on booking, I asked my friend Johnna to help me look for a horse.

That was her assignment.

Find a horse.

Well, Johnna apparently took that job VERY seriously because she found a 4-year-old off-the-track Thoroughbred sitting in a kill pen on her last day.

So naturally, this is My Benediction now. 😂

Her microchip confirmed exactly who she is: a registered Thoroughbred, born in California, who actually raced before somehow making her way across the country and eventually landing where she did.

She’s home, settling in beautifully, doing great on her preventative antibiotics, and today I gave her what may have been the most necessary bath of her life. Several years of grime came off, neither of us died, and as a professional groomer I am officially calling that a successful service. 😂

Her farrier comes Thursday to start getting those feet back in shape, and for now we’re just letting her decompress and keeping everything slow and easy.

So technically, Johnna completed her assigned task.

I asked her to find me a horse.

I probably should have been more specific. 😂🐩🐴

Gabby has been part of my journey almost from the very beginning.
Long before LollyPups Grooming became a full-time business, I was working seven days a week. During the week I worked at another salon, and on the weekends, I groomed out of a little setup in my laundry room at home.
Back then, there was a pocket door separating my tiny salon from the rest of the house. Since I was home, Daisy would wander in to "help" every now and then. 😊
Somewhere along the way, Gabby and Daisy became best friends.
Years have passed. The laundry room became a real salon. My little girl has grown taller. But one thing hasn't changed. Every time Gabby comes in, she still looks for Daisy first.
Watching clients grow with your business is special. Watching their dogs grow up alongside your children is something I'll never take for granted. These are the moments that remind me LollyPups has always been more than a grooming salon. It's been a place where relationships, trust, and friendships grow, too. 💕🐾

And before anyone asks... yes, I'm pretty much this ridiculous with every single one of my clients. Every dog has their own theme song, their own little nickname, and they've all learned to tolerate my daily shenanigans. I like to think they secretly love it... even if they occasionally give me the look. 😂❤️🐾
