We got to our new campground this afternoon and wow, we have a pull-through site right on the lake! Mom is super excited and told dad that he'd see her later. She and I are spending some quality relaxing time on the patio. I think I'm going to enjoy it here! Oh and there's a huge dog park on our a little ways behind us with serious ball throwing room.

Something's going on, but I don't know what. Mom is getting all excited and dad's outside playing with wood. Mom put together this tray and she won't let me have anything. Can someone tell me what's going on?

Hey Y'all, got an update I need to share about mom, aka Barbara Lawrence Brown. She was diagnosed with a large Acoustic Neuroma and will be meeting with several specialists on November 2nd, including an audiologist, a Neuro-Otologist, and a Neurosurgeon. She'll find out then the course of action and when they are doing surgery. Due to having to have both surgeons there at the same time, we expect surgery to happen in January 2027.
Since several people asked about the process and recovery period, here's what we know as this time:
* Surgery takes 6-8 hours.
* She'll spend 24-48 hours in ICU.
* Hospital stay for 3-5 more days.
* The brain will start rewiring itself to help with balance. This will take several months, up to a year.
* 6-8 weeks of no lifting over 5lbs, no bending over from the waist, and no straining.
* Extreme fatigue and unsteadiness may last a few months.
* Mom gets a new hair cut to help blend where they have to shave part of her head. (I think she's actually looking forward to a new do!)
I promised my Grammy, Aunties, and Uncles updates as we go along. Since updates may be spotty (my paws don't always fit the keyboard without mom's help), I wanted to keep everyone else in the loop as well. Dad is right by her side as we go along and, of course, I am too.
Next major update should be after her appointment. Until then...
