💙🐾 Squiggles Is Ready to Wiggle His Way Into Your Heart! 🐾💙

If you name a dog Squiggles, you better believe he's going to live up to it! 😂

Meet Squiggles, a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever/Vizsla mix who is every bit as goofy, happy, and fun as his name suggests.

Squiggles originally arrived at APL as a stray, and while the recent flooding has temporarily changed his accommodations, he's been living it up at a boarding facility. He's enjoying his little vacation, but he'd really prefer not to make a return trip to the shelter.

Instead, Squiggles has his sights set on something much better:

A forever home! 🏡❤️

🐶 Happy-go-lucky and full of personality
😂 Goofy, fun, and always ready for an adventure with his favorite people
🐕 Friendly and tolerant with other dogs—even the XXL-sized ones!
🎓 Already knows sit and takes treats very gently
🍽️ Very enthusiastic about mealtime and may benefit from a slow feeder
🐱 Curious about cats and would do best with a slow, proper introduction
🚶 Still working on his leash manners and can pull a little when excited
🛋️ According to the boarding facility, he's a very easy dog who is equally happy lounging around or heading out on the town

Squiggles is the kind of dog who doesn't need much to be happy. Give him a person to hang out with, and he's ready to go wherever life takes him—or happily kick back and lounge beside you.

He's already proven that he can handle the good life.

Just look at this beautiful girl! 😍 Tweety is a 1-year-old orange and white kitty with the prettiest eyes and the sweetest, gentlest soul.

She's the kind of cat who doesn't need to be the center of attention. Tweety is quiet, calm, and perfectly happy to simply be near her people. She's so quiet and well-behaved in her crate, but the moment she's let out, she has one thing on her mind:

SNUGGLES. 🥰

Tweety goes straight in for pets, cuddles, and quality time with her humans. She would make a wonderful companion whether you live in a house or an apartment.

🐱 Gorgeous orange and white girl with beautiful eyes

Tweety tested positive for FIV at her intake exam, but please don't let that diagnosis scare you away from this beautiful girl.

FIV is widely misunderstood. FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, healthy lives, especially when kept safely indoors and given the same love and routine care any cat deserves.

And yes—FIV-positive cats can live happily with FIV-negative cats. The virus is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, so peaceful, compatible cats living together can absolutely share a home.

Tweety isn't worried about her diagnosis. She's busy being sweet, soaking up cuddles, and waiting for someone to recognize what a wonderful companion she could be. ❤️

Matilda has been waiting for the next chapter of her story—and we’re hoping it starts very soon! 🐾

This gorgeous 2-year-old Shepherd mix was lucky enough to score a temporary foster home when flooding impacted APL. Her foster family has given her a safe place to decompress, but her time there is coming to an end.

Matilda has one very simple request:

Can I skip the shelter and go straight to my forever home? 🥹❤️

With her jet-black coat, adorable speckled white markings, and beautiful face, Matilda is quite the head-turner. But it’s her personality that will really win you over!

Say hello to Lucas, a handsome 4-month-old kitten who proves that being the only black cat in the family doesn't mean you can't fit right in! 🖤

Lucas is the lone little black panther in his litter of brothers and sisters, but he has no trouble keeping up with the crew. In fact, he's the biggest of the bunch and has a personality to match!

Have you ever seen ears this amazing?! 😍

Meet Nora, a 3-year-old Bulldog mix with the silliest ears, the sweetest face, and a heart as gentle as they come.

Nora recently arrived at APL with a couple of her puppies after her owner could no longer care for them. When the recent flooding forced our shelter to find temporary places for our animals, Nora was lucky enough to land in a loving foster home.

And while she's grateful for a safe place to stay, Nora has one request:

This short, stocky girl may look tough, but she's actually a total sweetheart. She's calm, gentle, incredibly well-mannered, and simply wonderful to be around.

🦴 Takes treats like a perfect little lady—patiently and very gently

Nora isn't looking for a complicated life. She's looking for a comfortable couch, a loving family, some nice walks, and someone who appreciates a spectacular pair of ears. 😂

After caring for her puppies and navigating so much change, this sweet mama deserves a chance to finally be someone's spoiled girl.

🐾📸 Jimmy Has Never Heard of Personal Space 📸🐾

Apparently, when someone says “let’s take your picture,” Jimmy hears:

“Come as close to the camera as physically possible.” 😂

This adorable 4-month-old kitten has absolutely no concept of personal space—and honestly, we’re not sure we want him to learn.

Jimmy is happiest when he’s right next to his people, preferably close enough to make sure you’re giving him all the attention he deserves. His photo session quickly turned into a series of adorable close-ups because this little guy just kept coming closer!

🤗 Wants to be close to his people

🍞🐾 Meet Toast — This Goofball Is Ready to Rise! 🐾🍞

Poor little Toast arrived at APL as a stray in pretty rough shape. She was covered in fleas and had lost fur on her back end, leaving her itchy, uncomfortable, and wondering what happened to her life.

Thankfully, Toast is now in a loving foster home where she's getting the care she needs—and she's quickly discovering that life can be pretty darn good. Her skin is feeling better every day, and in true Toast fashion, she's been keeping her foster family laughing with her silly antics. 😂

At 2 years old, this Shepherd/Terrier mix is the perfect combination of playful goofball and sweet, gentle girl.

✨ Here's what we know about Toast:

🐶 Sweet and shy girl who is blossoming in foster care
🍞 On the mend and feeling better every day
😂 Full-time goofball who keeps her foster family entertained
💕 Loves to play but also knows when it's time to settle down
