There's nothing quite like the enthusiasm, energy and comaraderie of the USEA Intercollegiate and Interscholastic Eventing Championships at Stable View last weekend! Smiling Horse Farm had 3 people competing, 2 on the Clemson team and one Clemson alumni on a scramble team. Lara and Buck finished on their dressage score with lovely jumping rounds to finish in fourth in their BN division, Megan and Louis also finished on their steadily improving dressage score and fabulous xc and SJ to finish 3rd in their starter division. Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Val also had an especially great go but a silly rail in stadium dropped them to 4th. Michelle's scramble team also finished 3rd in the alumni teams! Huge thanks to our team at home 👏Go SHF!!!💯🔥🎉💪👊❤️🌟🏆🥉

Great weekend at the FENCE Horse Trial! We had a small but mighty group with Jennifer Schaefer and Denali and Lara Lisa Shelnutt and Buck finishing on their dressage score in 2nd and 3rd place in their respective Beginner Novice divisions to both qualify for the AEC's 💪🔥♥️. Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Val had an educational trip around Starter and learned a lot as they both figure out the multiple canters they now have available, their balance and focus for each phase. It was so great to see many of our Eventing friends and enjoy the beautiful weather for the event! A huge thanks to the volunteers, organizer and officials as well as our group back home! Go SHF! 💪💯🦄🔥🥳👏👊🏇

It was a beautiful day at the Sporting Days horse trial last weekend! Eventing is hard and sometimes it's more of a learning experience than perhaps you want even if you've done your prep and all the things. In our Beginner Novice group Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Val showed more through ness and balance in dressage and had a confident beastly stadium overall but Val seemed to be fading a bit on xc in the heat. He'd been coughing some but had no fever and did well with working but it seemed putting all 3 phases together was a bit much. Julianne Shea Tetrick and Theo also had a nice dressage test but a bit of tension but things unraveled a bit in stadium, this horse never stops and they got the big E. A call to the vet first thing Monday to schedule an appointment confirmed it was time for joint injections! Looking forward to having a new and improved Theo!
In our Starter group Megan and Louis continue to get more comfortable in the show environment with an improved dressage test and somehow survived the stadium warm up to have a lovely stadium and xc to finish in 7th! Lara Lisa Shelnutt and her new boy Buck also are getting more comfortable in the show environment and survived the warm ups to have a slightly more relaxed dressage test and beautiful confident jumping rounds to finish on their dressage score (fod)! A big shout out to our team at home for keeping things running smoothly! Go SHF! ❤️🏇🦄💯💪🦄🔥

A few pics from Jumping Branch Farm Horse Trials a few weekends ago. Thankful for Tim and Vickie for hosting these events and the super team of volunteers and officials that show up rain or shine! I'm so proud of these ladies! Lara and Buck completed their first horse trial as a team finishing on their dressage score 💪 and were lucky to compete on nice weather on Saturday! Everyone else enjoyed the pouring (emphasis on pouring) rain on Sunday. Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Val had one of their best goes yet but the results on paper don't quite show that. Super confident, manageably bold some suppleness in dressage 💪👊💯. So proud of these ladies and excited to see the progress! As always we can't do this without our amazing team at home! 🦄🔥💪💯👊🔥🏇❤️🥰

A huge thank you to the Foothills Riding Club for hosting these great schooling shows! We had fun, conquered demons, dressed up for Halloween 👻🎃, learned a lot, jumped out of the dressage arena 🤭🫣, jumped stuff, solidified skills and came away better educated with more confidence! 💪💯. Jennifer Schaefer and Denali, Grace Von Kaenel and Nic and Lara Lisa Shelnutt and Moe Macie Puckett all rocked their BN division finishing on their dressage scores with Lara in first, Grace in fifth (Grace and Nic won the dressage warm up!) and Jen finished just out of the ribbons in 7th but with so much more rideability in the jumping! Megan and Louis finished in 2nd in their Starter division which was amazing since Louis was a little fresh on Friday but came out all business on Saturday! P Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Corwin had a learning moment when Corwin exited the dressage arena but they redeemed themselves later in the afternoon with an excellent lesson w clear control. Autumn and Cami had their best dressage test score yet and rocked around the sprouts but finished just out of the ribbons in 7th. We missed Gracie Renda and Diana who were supposed to join us for the weekend. Ally and Charlie did the always fun costume class! A big thank you to everyone at home that keep the barn running when we are gone!! 🥰 Go SHF! 💪👊🦄♥️💖🎃👻💯🔥

Smiling Horse Farm had a fabulous go at the Stable View Eventing Academy last weekend. We had an excellent day of schooling on Saturday and competing on Sunday! Jennifer Schaefer and Denali and Julianne and Theo had successful move ups to Beginner Novice with Jen finishing with a pretty pink ribbon! Unfortunately Julianne and Theo had a silly drive by which dropped them from 1st to 7th but they learned a lot. It was great to see Julianne, Theo and Shea Tetrick after almost a year off with saddle fit (Theo) and lameness (Julianne) issues. A big shout out to Amber Garcia for all the great training! Michelle Nobrega-Lee and Val and Lara Lisa Shelnutt and Moe finished on their dressage score at Starter and are ready for their BN move ups next month! Michelle taking home a fourth and Lara a 3rd. Megan took her new horse, Louis, off the farm for the first time as a pair and schooled the things and put in an excellent dressage test. P and Corwin and Autumn and Cami also had excellent schoolings and finished on their dressage scores with lovely stadium rounds in their sprouts combined test with ribbons! Lindsay Moore Murphy and Moe only did the xc schooling on Saturday and rocked it despite an unplanned dismount. It's so cool to see the development of these partnerships! Go SHF!!! And of course a big shout out to our team at home that keeps things running smoothly while we compete! Go SHF! 🔥💪👊👏🦄💖💯
