Oscar's mom will occasionally send us a photo with the comment, "Why would his neck ever be out of place?" 🤣🤣🤣 Oscar is seen regularly by Dr. Rider at his home for spinal adjustments, laser therapy, and massage. His decisions to relax in these positions are part of the reason for our visits! 😁

Riggs Lee is arguably one of our happiest patients. He has come such a long way since a couple of months ago. He had been seeing Dr. Rider for a while, but a few months ago he had a bad injury to both of his knees and couldn't walk more than a couple of steps at a time. His parents were fearef the worst: having to euthanize him. WELL LOOK AT HIMS NOW, STRUTTIN’ HIS STUFF! We love seeing him and his parents every couple of weeks. He has adjusted well to our clinic, so much so that Heather no longer needs to assist in snuggling-- she means holding -- him for his electroacupuncture. His parents have also done a wonderful job helping him to lose weight and bringing him in routinely for his therapy. What a lovely energy this boy brings everywhere he goes! 🐾😚💕

Denver update 💙🐾

Sweet senior boy Denver recently took a trip to Michigan and got to enjoy some new adventures at the beach — including one of his favorite activities: rolling in the sand.

He even went swimming in his life vest and did wonderfully navigating the water and ramp. While he needed some extra rest after his bigger adventure days, his mom shared that he’s been doing great overall and staying comfortable throughout the trip.

Helping senior pets continue enjoying the things they love most is one of the greatest joys of holistic care, and we’re so happy to be part of Denver’s journey. 💕

Senior pets and pets experiencing cognitive decline often need more than medical treatment alone. 💚

As our beloved companions age, changes in memory, sleep patterns, anxiety levels, mobility, house training, social interactions, and daily routines can become part of life. While these changes can feel heartbreaking, many pets can still experience comfort, connection, joy, and a meaningful quality of life when their emotional and physical needs are supported thoughtfully.

This “Hierarchy of Needs” for pets is inspired by the understanding that wellbeing starts with the basics — comfort, pain control, nutrition, rest, safety, and predictable routines — but it also includes emotional reassurance, gentle connection, enrichment, familiar environments, and preserving dignity as pets age.

Much like people with dementia, senior pets with cognitive dysfunction often benefit from calm routines, reduced stress, familiar surroundings, patient handling, sensory support, and loving companionship. Even when memory changes, emotional connection remains deeply important. 🐾

At Hello Harmony Vet, we believe caring for aging pets means supporting the whole family while helping pets feel safe, comfortable, understood, and loved through every stage of life.

We had to get this girlie in the sunlight-- er, spotlight! 🥰

Penelope is an 8 year old Frenchie that sought Dr. Rider's therapies to help with GI and spine issues. She was the BEST girl EVER for her first visit, and we were able to do spinal manipulation, acupuncture, aquapuncture, AND electroacupunture! She was feeling super afterwards, and she is planning to return for some routine visits every few weeks. What a good girl! 🥰

Our new Hello Harmony Vet sign is out front and we couldn’t love it more. We’re so grateful to continue creating a calm, welcoming space where pets and their people can feel supported through holistic, compassionate care.
