We are very excited to announce Jeanine Fitzgerald has joined Pet Emergency Treatment as our new Hospital Director!

Jeanine brings nearly a decade of veterinary industry leadership experience to our team. Her journey in the pet industry spans years of diverse experience in animal healthcare – from working in veterinary hospitals and managing a niche dog boarding facility to navigating the pet insurance space.

Excited to transition into specialty and emergency medicine, Jeanine looks forward to working closely with pet parents and the team to ensure clients and their furry family members receive exceptional, high-quality care.

At home, Jeanine’s heart (and hands) are full with her two Boxers and five very spoiled house cats. In her spare time, Jeanine and her husband enjoy exploring Alaska with the dogs and one adventure cat!

We hope that your holiday weekend is filled with fun! However, please keep in mind that for some pets, the holiday can be filled with stress and anxiety. With that in mind, we have put together some 4th of July safety tips to ensure that you and your pet have the best, yet safest, celebrations.

Is your pet ready for July 4th? 🎆🐾

If your pet is sensitive to loud noises or has struggled with anxiety in the past, now is the time to plan ahead. Talk with your primary veterinarian early about whether anti-anxiety medications or calming support options may be appropriate for your pet.

A little preparation now can go a long way in keeping your pet safe, comfortable, and supported through the noise.

Did you know 6 minutes is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot vehicle and face lifelong or fatal consequences? ☀️🥵 Pets can still overheat even when the windows are down, or if the car is parked in a shaded area.

Our best advice is to not leave your dog in the car - take them with you or leave them at home with plenty of water and shade. They will happily greet you when you return! 😊
