🐾 National Pet Obesity Awareness Day! 🐾

According to a 2022 veterinary survey, more than half of dogs and cats evaluated were overweight or obese.

A few extra pounds might not seem like much, but they can put additional stress on your pet’s joints and increase their risk of health problems such as arthritis, diabetes, and breathing difficulties.

One of the easiest ways to check your pet’s weight at home is to look at their body condition. You should be able to feel their ribs without pressing too hard, see a waist when looking from above, and notice a slight tuck in their abdomen when looking from the side.

Measuring your pets food, limiting extra treats, and encouraging daily activity can make a big difference.

If you’re concerned about your pet’s weight, ask us about it at their next visit! We’re always happy to help you determine a healthy weight for your pet.
