OPEN TODAY (Sunday-Feb. 8th) UNTIL 5 PM. 24-HOUR SERVICE TO RESUME TOMORROW (Mon-Feb. 9th)!!!

As you know, we have had very limited hours lately for our Self-Serve Pet Wash, here in Amherst, due to the extreme cold temperatures, and how long they have stuck around. It looks like we might finally be getting a reprieve!!! To prevent anyone from getting injured and from our equipment getting damaged, we have had to close the Self Serve Wash Stations when the outside temperature drops into the single-digits!

The Alpha-Dog Pet Center's Self-Serve Pet Wash station will be OPEN TODAY (Sunday, Feb. 8th) until 5:00 PM. It will Re-Open by 11:00 am tomorrow (Monday, Feb. 9th), and should return to normal operation of being open 24-Hours!!!

Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this extended spell of unusually cold temperatures.

DOG LICENSE DEADLINE APPROACHING... If you have not purchased your dog's 2026 Ohio Dog License yet, you will want hurry and get yours SOON! The last day to purchase Lorain County Dog Licenses at the regular price is THIS SATURDAY, January 31st! Beginning Sunday, Feb. 1st, there will be a $26 PENALTY FEE (in addition to regular fee). So don't wait! Alpha-Dog Pet Center, here in Amherst, Ohio is one of the places you can get your 2026 Dog License, if you live in Lorain County. Hope to see you soon!

UPDATE--- STILL CLOSED through Jan. 30th... Due to the continued sub-zero wind-chills and near-zero overnight temperatures, our Self-Serve Pet Wash station will remained CLOSED through Friday, January 30th. At this time, unless things change, we plan to re-open the Pet Wash on Saturday, January 31st, when our retail store opens at 10:00 AM. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe and protect the equipment!

CLOSED DURING WINTER STORM (Jan. 23-27)... Due potential maintenance complications and SAFETY concerns from the EXTREME COLD TEMPERATURES associated with this weekend's Winter Storm Warning, Alpha-Dog Pet Center's Self-Serve Pet Wash Station (46370 Middle Ridge Rd. - Amherst, Ohio) will be CLOSED for the duration of the WINTER STORM WARNING.

Low Temp and High Wind combination is just too much! We don't want to see any dogs/humans injured (or worse) by being wet in this weather, but also don't want to risk damage to our equipment that would close the Pet Wash for much longer. The extreme cold temperatures can also create issues with our Self-Serve Pet Wash's Heating system, trying to keep up. Our pipes are not freezing, but air temperature inside the wash bays can still be too cold, and could cause glass to break when customers try to spray warm water!

We expect the Pet Wash to re-open on TUESDAY MORNING (January 27th), at approximately 11:00 am, but check back here because this could change if this Winter Storm tracks differently than expected. We apologize for any inconvenience, but at Alpha-Dog Pet Center the safety of our customers and pets is the #1 priority, and any equipment failures due to weather could lead to an unsafe situation! We appreciate your understanding!!!

ATTENTION Alpha-Dog Pet Center CUSTOMERS... Be sure to stop by and stock-up on any needed supplies in the next couple days, before 6 pm on New Year's Eve! We are taking a couple days-off after the New Year to conduct annual inventory and to get some much-needed rest! Thanks for a great 2025, and here's to a better 2026. HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!!!
