🐾✨ From Mischief to CGC ✨🐾

Meet Bailey, a 1½-year-old Goldendoodle who came to Sit Means Sit Dog Training Cleveland Westside in March to work on her manners! 🐶❤️

Bailey needed help with recall and some unwanted behaviors, including jumping, leash pulling, play biting, and trying to be a little escape artist! 😅

With training, consistency, and dedication, Bailey has made some incredible progress! 🎉 Not only has she learned better manners, but she has also passed her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and is now on her way to becoming a therapy dog! 🏅🐾❤️

From working on everyday manners to preparing for a future of bringing comfort and smiles to others, Bailey’s transformation is something to celebrate!

🎃🐾 IS YOUR DOG READY FOR HALLOWEEN? 👻

Halloween can be full of spooky surprises for our four-legged friends! 🐶 From doorbells ringing nonstop to costumed trick-or-treaters and tempting candy, there’s a lot for your dog to handle.

Here are a few tips to help your pup have a safe and happy Halloween:

🎃 Practice calm behavior when the doorbell rings.

🐾 Prevent door dashing when trick-or-treaters arrive.

🍬 Keep candy and chocolate safely out of reach.

👻 Create a quiet space where your dog can relax if the festivities get overwhelming.

🦮 Practice obedience so your dog can listen even with distractions around.

🐶 Planning to dress up your dog? Make sure your pup is comfortable in their costume! It should fit properly, allow free movement, and never restrict breathing or vision. If your dog seems uncomfortable, skip the costume and let them celebrate in their own style! 🧡

A well-trained dog makes Halloween less spooky for everyone! 🎃🐕

🍂🐾 FALL SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR FURRY FRIENDS!

Fall is full of beautiful leaves, cooler walks, and exciting new smells for our dogs! But before you head out for your next autumn adventure, keep these seasonal hazards in mind.

⚠️ Watch What They Sniff & Snack On!
🍄 Wild Mushrooms: Some varieties are poisonous to dogs. Keep your pup away from unfamiliar mushrooms.
🌰 Acorns & Nuts: These can cause stomach upset and, in some cases, serious complications if eaten.
🍂 Fallen Leaves: Damp, decaying leaves can hide mold, mushrooms, and other hazards.
🚗 Antifreeze: Even small amounts of certain antifreeze products can be extremely dangerous to dogs. Clean up spills promptly and keep pets away from them.
🎃 Halloween Decorations: Keep electrical cords, candles, small decorations, and other tempting objects out of reach.

🐕 A Few Extra Tips:
✅ Keep your dog leashed on walks and supervise outdoor adventures.
✅ Practice your “leave it” command to help prevent your dog from picking up dangerous items.
✅ Check your yard regularly for mushrooms and other hazards.
✅ If you suspect your dog has eaten something toxic, contact your veterinarian immediately.

🍁 Enjoy everything fall has to offer while keeping those tails wagging safely!

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to all the amazing dogs and handlers who passes their Canine Good Citizen test, Gracie (Joyce), Teddy (Kris), Cocoa (Mimi), Autumn (Dawn), Bailey (Keli), and Sailor (Diane)!

Earning the CGC is a wonderful accomplishment and reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork between each dog and their handler. From practicing obedience skills to working calmly around people and other dogs, these teams put in the time and effort to reach this important milestone.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you! Your commitment to training is what makes these accomplishments possible.

And for our handlers, remember—you earned this right alongside your dog! The CGC is a team achievement, and you should be proud of the work you’ve put into building a stronger relationship with your four-legged partner.

Congratulations to all of our new Canine Good Citizens!
