We had a huge success story here last week at our kennel! This nut ball running around came with huge separation anxiety and a very worried momma about leaving him. She brought him for multiple daycare days to try to help him before going on her vacation, and after he was here, it only took 2 days of patience and love to get him to break out of his anxiety shell and have some fun!!

And the big lovable Great Pyrenees is a pup that is embedded in our kennel family forever like many others! We LOVE when she comes to visit us ❤️

One of our customers is fostering these sweet puppies and are up for adoption through Almost Home in Nelson county! The thing about fostering, is the dog isn’t in the shelter when people go to look, so though they are comfortable in a home setting, they have a harder time at finding a forever home. These pups are Bear and Raven and they could go together or separately. Please contact the Nelson SPCA for more information on these sweethearts who are waiting patiently for their new Forever to start!

Meet our newest foster, TJ!
He is the smaller Black Dog

How he’s been at the shelter for 2 months I have no idea. He is the nicest, most playful dog who gets along with everyone! I’ll add the video of him running around with my 5 year old and he is wonderful at fetch- bringing the ball back too!
He loves dogs but he definitely will attach to you quickly. Any time he gets nervous he comes straight to me for ‘protection’ till he’s comfortable, and I’ve only known him a few days

He is high energy so someone who can keep him active whether it’s throwing the ball in a fences in yard or having another high energy pup to play with would be great

He is fully house trained. Even when he came and had diarrhea the first night from nerves, he waited to go outside before letting it out

Great with dogs and kids, unsure of cats but he doesn’t chase the squirrels

I’d love for you to come meet him! Apply through Humane Society of Amherst County to get approved and then we can set up a visit!
