We will post the schedule as soon as we have more information.

With colder days settling in around Portsmouth and the Seacoast, we tend to see more rodent activity and more rodenticides being used around homes and garages. It’s a good time for a quick reminder about how dangerous these products can be for pets.

Rodenticides don’t just attract rodents. Dogs and cats can be drawn to them too, and even a small amount can cause serious harm, including internal bleeding, kidney failure, seizures, or worse.

Whenever possible, we recommend avoiding rodenticides and working with a local pest control professional instead. If you do use them, a few important precautions:
• Keep products locked away and out of reach
• Never mix rodenticide with food
• Hold onto the packaging or receipt in case it’s needed

If you think your pet may have been exposed, please contact Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital right away at 603-433-0056.

You can also call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 for immediate guidance.
