MEET DEAN. Dean is a new addition to the "Whisker Warriors' Furst Responders" cat colony blood donor room in the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital. Dean and his fellow felines are helping cats keep all lives one blood donation at a time. Dean still has plenty of kitten energy as he loves to chase wand toys and push balls and springs off of climbers.

SIGNIFICANT UPGRADES. The Large Animal Hospital in the College of Veterinary Medicine has recently completed significant facility upgrades with the installation of new headgates and updated swing gates. These improvements enhance animal handling and restraint during examinations and procedures, creating a safer environment for patients, staff and veterinary students. EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION. A pair of College of Veterinary Medicine Excellence in Education Grants have been awarded to Drs. Melissa Tropf and Brenda Mulherin in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Tropf's project is "Developing an AI-Driven Tutor to Enhance Student Competency in ECG Interpretation." Mulherin's project is "Excellence in Veterinary Dental Education and Basic Competency: Creating an Opportunity for Students to Practice Regional Anesthesia Skills and Surgical Extractions in Canine and Feline Patients."
