Urgent Care Spotlight: Ultrasound Imaging ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฉบ

When pets aren't feeling their best, getting answers quickly can make all the difference. Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging tool that your veterinarian can utilize to look inside your pet's body in real time. With our Urgent Care service, we utilize both FAST scans (Focused Assessment with Sonography) and full diagnostic ultrasounds to help identify underlying conditions and guide treatment decisions. ๐Ÿพ

A FAST scan is a quick ultrasound assessment often used in urgent situations to check for abnormalities such as free fluid, internal bleeding, or other concerns that may require immediate attention. A full ultrasound provides a more detailed evaluation of organs including the liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, gastrointestinal tract, and more. ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ“ˆ

Common symptoms that may benefit from ultrasound imaging include:
Vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or bloating, difficulty urinating, unexplained weight loss, lethargy or weakness, suspected internal injury, changes in breathing or heart function, etc. ๐Ÿง

Ultrasound allows your veterinarian to gather valuable information that cannot be seen during a physical examination alone. When combined with other diagnostics such as bloodwork, radiographs, additional laboratory testing, ultrasound can be a powerful tool in developing an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan for your pet! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Our goal is to provide timely answers and compassionate care when your pet needs it most. If your pet is experiencing concerning symptoms, our Urgent Care team is here to help!
