❤️ We have so many new faces here lately, and I think it’s time I reintroduce myself—and tell you a little about how LuvBugs came to be.
Hi, I’m Keagan. I’m a wife, homeschooling mama, sourdough baker, gardener, rabbit raiser, and the person behind all the beautiful chaos you see here. But LuvBugs is so much more than a business name to me.
LuvBugs is what I call my kids. ❤️
It all started with LuvBugs Rabbitry when my kids began showing and breeding their own rabbits. What started as something for them quickly became something our whole family loved. We learned together, raised rabbits together, traveled to shows, celebrated wins, learned from losses, and watched the kids take pride in animals they had raised themselves.
Then our lives changed in a way we never could have imagined when we lost our baby girl, Evangeline.
After losing her, I needed something. Something to get me out of bed. Something to keep my hands and my mind busy. Something to keep me going when life felt impossibly heavy.
So I made sourdough.
And then I made some more sourdough. 😂
I baked and baked, and somewhere along the way, that simple rhythm of feeding a starter, mixing dough, waiting for it to rise, and making something with my own two hands became part of how I kept moving forward.
From there, LuvBugs Homestead grew. 🌾
The rabbits were joined by gardening, more animals, farmers markets, and a LOT more sourdough than I ever imagined I would bake. 😂 What began during one of the hardest seasons of my life slowly grew into something beautiful that our whole family could be a part of.
These days you’ll usually find me covered in flour, tending the garden, caring for animals, homeschooling, hauling kids to 4-H activities, baking hundreds of loaves, or dreaming up another flavor that I absolutely have to try.
🥖 We make traditional and flavored sourdough, focaccia, sourdough chocolate chip cookies, and whatever new creation I decide to experiment with that week.
🐇 We raise rabbits for show, breeding, and meat, and the kids are very involved in raising and showing their own animals.
🌱 And when the garden cooperates, you’ll see fresh produce available too.
But underneath all of that, LuvBugs will always be about my kids and our family.
It started because of them. It grew during a time when I desperately needed something to hold onto. And it has become something I’m incredibly grateful to share with all of you.
