The bridge is already doing its job 🦌
Three mule deer have become the first animals photographed using California's first wildlife overcrossing, a new structure designed to help animals safely cross a busy highway in Siskiyou County.
Researchers say the crossing was built in an area with frequent wildlife-vehicle collisions and is expected to help species including deer, elk, black bears, mountain lions, and gray wolves move more safely through the landscape. Construction is nearing completion, but wildlife is already starting to use it.
