I never imagined Iād be sitting here in this position. And before you freak out and read further, I am NOT closing.
Being a small business owner means people see the appointments, the happy pets, and the finished results. What they donāt always see is the stress, the sacrifices, the unexpected expenses, and the countless hours spent trying to keep everything going behind the scenes.
My mobile grooming bus has been one of the biggest blessings for my business, when I went mobile I blew up, giving me the freedom to build something of my own. But it has also been the biggest headache with the constant breakdowns and repairs have taken a financial and emotional toll that I can no longer ignore. As in over $20k since Iāve gotten it.
Iāve worked too hard to get where I am to pretend this hasnāt been difficult. Iāve pushed through, tried to stay positive, and done my best to roll with every punch. But lately, itās been heavy.
Right now, I honestly donāt know what the future looks like. Iām trying to figure out the best way forward, and thatās not an easy place to be when your business is your income and people depend on you.
Iām not giving up, I will not close, but I may have to go back to housecall temporarily but Iām not making any final decision on that, because the end goal will to always be mobile, and housecall would be temporary anyway while I build out another bus. Iām just being honest about where things stand right now. Iām just going day by day and hope I donāt get stranded.
Sometimes, even when you work hard, give it your all, and do everything you can, things still donāt go the way you planned. And sometimes, you have to take a step back and figure out what comes next.
