Oh. My. Goodness. Y’all.
LOOK AT HER😩

Penelope is just the picture of joy and love🤍

For those of you looking at your screen wondering “what in the world is that thing?!” This is miss Penelope, she is a Chinese Crested filled with sugar and kisses🥰

We don’t often get to see these breeds very much, they’re few and far between- some of us in the shop today having never met one in person until today! I have been lucky enough to have now met two cresteds in my life and they both had the same affectionate personality!💕

Now some fun facts about their breed that I’ve learned over the years of my dog breed knowledge obsession😁

Chinese Cresteds actually aren’t always hairless! They can have a hairless coat with hair growing on the tops of their heads, feet and tail (with a few wild hairs here and there😂)
If they do end up having a full fur coat, they are knows as, get this, POWDERPUFFS! Now tell me that’s not the cutest thing ever🥹

Despite being hairless, they do require daily skin care to keep them healthy, such as sunscreen, lotion and baby oils!

They are a toy breed so they don’t usually get much bigger than miss Penelope here!

Chinese Cresteds aren’t the only hairless breed in the world, there are actually quite a few! You have the Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dog) which is more of a medium size breed (This dog actually made its debut in the Disney movie CoCo). Another is the American Hairless Terrier which is also a toy breed that resembles a rat terrier, buuuuut they’re missing a little something- maybe the hair😂

Regardless of breed or size, we truly love them all! Thank you to Penelope’s mom for trusting us with her, we can’t wait to see her back🤍

Miss Precious is seen here modeling off some of the salon waiting area furniture!✨

She patiently waited as I warmed up her bath and when it was time to go, she hopped right back up into her spot while we waited for her mama to come get her🤍

It’s so gratifying to see my salon come together knowing it’s already a safe space where all pets feel welcome and comfortable in every step of their appointment🥰

You’re reading that right! I have a new pet stylist coming to accompany me in the shop🎉

I’m so lucky to have had a chance to start my own business and to have the ability to work side by side with another woman dedicated to making pets feel safe, loved and clean🥰

✨So, please join me in welcoming Kaylee to the DeTails family! She has been shadowing me while I groom for several weeks now and is ready to learn everything there is about the grooming world.✨

Kaylee intends to provide a variety of services from nail trims to full grooms as well as grooming some critters that aren’t typically accepted at other grooming salons, such as rabbits and ferrets🐰

✨We are just SEVEN short days away from opening day✨

We are all trying our best despite some setbacks to get the salon up and running- as what happens when you deal with any form of construction😅

Nonetheless, we will be here and eager to start our appointments next week as we complete some of the finishing touches🛠️

We do have plans to host an open house once every little “detail” is complete, I want to make sure EVERYTHING is as perfect as can be for this event.

📌For clients coming in soon, please excuse anything that may appear unfinished at your first appointment- I can assure you by your next visit everything will be flawless🥰

How did your pet get their name?🤔

Was it picked from a situation where they were found/adopted, is it from a physical characteristic they have, is there a person or an object that just really resonates to you and you wanted to represent that in your pet?

We find beautiful names in nature so many of our pets are named from plants🥰🌿

Pictures of your pets are a bonus❤️📸

I feel as if it’s only right that miss girl gets her own introduction as well🥰

Hi everyone, this is Pepper! And since she can’t actually speak- I’ll speak for her.

Pepper has been my dog companion since we rescued her in 2013, so yes she will be 13 this year- there’s a lot of surprise around the fact that she looks phenomenal for her age! She, like Whiskers, has always been there for all the good and bad and I’m so thankful to have had 13 years with her and more to come!

If you’ve had appointments with me prior to this business then you’ve definitely met my most valuable worker, Pepper is a greeter. She loves to be the center of attention and respectfully ask for pets by coming to you in a calm manner!

Her favorite pastime is to watch me work, she’s always laying near the table as I’m working and loves to follow me around watching what I do. I couldn’t ask for a better shop dog🤍
