🦟 A mosquito got into the clinic today… and we let him stay. 😄

Meet Mosquito, the cutest little Chihuahua who came in for his annual wellness check-up!

He is officially the only mosquito we’re happy to see at Homestead. The flying kind can transmit heartworm disease and other illnesses, so we much prefer ours tiny, four-legged, and wearing a collar. Thankfully, this Mosquito came bearing nothing but big ears, a cute face, and plenty of personality. 🐶🐾💛

Annual wellness exams, routine bloodwork, heartworm testing, and year-round prevention all help us keep little guys like Mosquito healthy.

🌎🐾 World Rabies Day: Is Your Pet Protected?

Rabies may not be something we think about every day, but it is still present right here in Georgia, primarily in our wildlife population.

🤔 Do you know which wild animals are most commonly associated with rabies in Georgia?

🦝 Raccoons
🦇 Bats
🦨 Skunks
🦊 Foxes

Even indoor pets can have unexpected encounters with wildlife—especially bats—so keeping dogs and cats appropriately vaccinated is an important part of protecting our pets, our families, and our community. Georgia public health officials specifically identify raccoons, skunks, foxes, and bats as the primary wildlife species affected by rabies in our state.

💉 Not sure when your pet’s rabies vaccine is due? We’re happy to check their records!

📅 Schedule an appointment with Homestead Animal Hospital to get your pet up to date and protected.

Tiny supervisor on duty in the cat room today. 🐾😸

This sweet kitty made the most of our cat-only exam room with a little toy time, some cozy exploring, and of course, a peek out the window to supervise reception.

We love creating a space that feels calm, comfortable, and cat-friendly, complete with pheromones, toys, treats, and cozy touches to help our feline patients settle in and feel more at ease.

Because for cats, the little things matter—and a lower-stress visit can make all the difference. 🐾💚
