Moving to a new location? Make sure your furbabies are not only micro chipped but their information on your specific Pet Recovery sites are updated. It’s free to set-up the accounts.

Steps:
1. Ask your vet to scan your pet to see if your pet has a chip.
2. If so, ask for the chip number and if they know what company the chip is associated with. They can usually tell by the number/letter format.
3. Search online for the company. Ie 24PetWatch, Home Again
4. Create an account, look up your pet’s microchip number.
5. Add or update your information.

If you have already created the account but you don’t remember what email you used to set it up or your old email is inactive, call the company directly and a representative will help you.

Let’s make sure your pet(s) can be found and brought back to you if they ever go missing. Xo

Tomorrow is GA Gives Day. Because of you, BC2A's rescue pup, Rusty had the chance to experience special care during his last months and much love. We had to say goodbye to our sweet Rusty "Do" last week. His frail body gave out on him and we didn't want him to be in pain any longer.

When Rusty first arrived at BC2A's founder's home, he wasn't sure about city life but after a few months he settled in and his personality shined. He brought us so much happiness. From his open mouth happy 1/2 rolls and his little whines, to tell us he wanted a greenie or cookie, to his cute dances before breakfast and dinner and his hard little nudges to tell us to give him more attention, he was our pride and joy. He experienced the beach, neighborhood walks and the park every week with his new brother & sister. He told us when he wanted to go out even though he couldn't hear. His presence is still all around us and he gave us more than we could have asked for. Run around with the other pups sweet boy and listen to the red cardinals chirping. We miss you so much Rusty "Do" and we will see you again.

COVID-19 is impacting our lives as well as animal shelters. Shelters are overflowing and people who are panicking or who have lost jobs are surrendering their animals at a higher rate. Most rescue places have closed their doors to the public for now but have systems in place to allow for adoption applications etc. If you have space in your heart and home, please consider adopting or fostering a rescue.

BC2A's sweet new foster pup just had major dental surgery. Front canine surgically removed and 2 back canines surgically removed. The first hours were so sad to watch. Here he is after we picked him up. The surgery was estimated to cost inbetween $1500 - $2000 and yes, it was just over $1500 but so worth it. He will feel better soon. Thank you for all of your prayers for him. We love him so much.

Rusty is scheduled for his major dental surgery on Wednesday. Although, his teeth are in rough condition (most likely from eating rocks before BC2A rescued him), Rusty is ready to eat! BC2A's Mookie & Furley Memorial Fund was founded by Janine, an amazing BC2A supporter and passionate animal lover. She recently lost her Furley on the same day she lost her Mookie. It's been a difficult past 24 hours. Please join me and the BC2A team in sending her healing thoughts and lots of love.

Once upon a time, Mookie (1999-2013) and Furley (2001-2020) were rescued by a self-declared "dog person," who couldn't have imagined how quickly they would steal her heart. This fund was set up in their memory to honor the joy, light and love they offered everyone who encountered them - and to help improve and save the lives of animals of all kinds.
