🍓🍓 It's a "Berry" Good Time of Year when all the fresh fruit finally starts to come out. We've got you ready to with today's auction that includes a gorgeous Polish Pottery strainer/colander and plate to go under it to rinse all those yummy berries. Berries = smoothies and you'll be whipping up all kinds with this nutri bullet ultra, we've even got a fun Starbucks cup for you to put them in. Kitten season is here, and with it comes a number of posts for "free" kittens. While there is nothing better than adding a new furry family member, please consider what "free" really costs in the end if you do proper vetting & spay/neuter. If you are looking to add a new feline friend to your home, please consider adopting from a shelter as it not only saves you money in the end, but it also allows us to take in more animals needing help and making sure they find the purr-fect forever home. There are a number of area shelters that have lots of kitties to choose from - so check out our adoptables, Alcona Humane Society and Elk Country Animal Shelter. 💜🐾

Welcome to your second chance Zander! This handsome fella is a poodle/pittie mix (yup, you read that right 🙃) and is going to get a whole new life now. He is 8 months old and a pretty happy guy considering his whole world has just changed. Zander will be going for his neuter shortly and then will be up for meet & greets. Last year we took in a total of 27 dogs - this year we are now at 29. We are the ONLY shelter in the county taking pittie mixes, and there are a LOT in this area. If you have a pittie, or if you just love them, please help our shelter continue to say yes to amazing dogs like Zander - we are now their only chance.

Second Chance and our friends from Alpena County Sheriff's Office Animal Control got together to take part in the HopSide Brewery Pints for Pets Walk today! What a great day for the event and Blaze was there to show off his mad modeling skills on his very own can! Bingo, the Second Chance model, is happily enjoying life in his new home. Tucker, well he was tuckered out after the mile long walk and the rest of the ho-man crew are going to enjoy a cold one tonight at home! THANK YOU to HopSide for giving back to the animals in our community - if you haven't stopped by to see them, you are missing out! A fantastic patio, great food and beverages and an AMAZING staff!
