Sunrise Veterinary Services is looking to add a Licensed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to our growing team here in Alpena, MI! 🐾
We are searching for someone who is compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing high-quality patient care. Our team works closely together every day to create a supportive environment where both pets and staff can thrive.
This is a full-time position (35–40 hours/week, shifts may vary) and includes weekends as needed, ER rotation, and holiday coverage.
Pay is based on experience.

Our LVTs and Veterinary Assistants play a very hands-on role in patient care and daily hospital operations, including:
• Surgery preparation and anesthesia monitoring
• Dental procedures and radiology
• Laboratory diagnostics
• Assisting veterinarians during exams and advanced procedures
• Monitoring medical equipment and inventory
• Maintaining sanitation, safety, and treatment protocols
• Supporting clients and helping ensure smooth workflow throughout the clinic
Requirements for Veterinary Assistants include:
• Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures
• Proper patient restraint skills
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology
• Strong communication skills with clients and staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to excellent patient and client care
• Prior veterinary experience of at least a year
Requirements for Licensed Veterinary Technicians include:
• Current Michigan LVT license/renewal compliance
• Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
• Passing the VTNE examination
