Everybody meet Pike, our handsome Dalmatian and the absolute BESTEST boy!

Pike is the perfect mix of goofy, playful, and cuddly! Heā€™s always ready to romp around with his dog friends and have a good time, but heā€™s just as happy soaking up some love and snuggles from the staff. Basically, heā€™s a professional playmate AND a professional cuddler!

Pike is our go-with-the-flow kind of guy. Heā€™s happy wherever the day takes him, makes friends wherever he goes, and somehow manages to win over just about everyone he meets. All of our staff absolutely adore him, and the other dogs seem to agree that Pike is pretty awesome, too!

Honestly, whatā€™s not to love?! Heā€™s got the goofy personality, the playful spirit, and the sweetest side that makes you want to give him all the extra cuddles. Weā€™re so lucky to have this spotted sweetheart as part of our Canine Communication family! šŸ¤šŸ–¤

DOG OF THE MONTH: MURPHY!

Murphy is such a great reminder that sometimes a little time, patience, and the right adjustments can make all the difference. ā¤ļø

When Murphy first came to daycare, we quickly realized that it was a little too much for him. We sent him home on his first day, made a few adjustments, gave him some time, and brought him back a week or two later.

And WOWā€¦ what a difference!

Murphy came back ready to take on daycare, and he has been absolutely wonderful ever since. Now he has officially been dubbed our ā€œsweet baby angel of daycare,ā€ and honestly it's well earned.

Murphy is the perfect example of what we love to see in a daycare dog. He listens, plays beautifully with his friends, snuggles even better, and gets SO excited every time another friend walks through the door.

We are so happy that Murphy is part of our daycare family, and weā€™re even happier that we gave him the time and support he needed to find his confidence.

We canā€™t wait to watch that confidence continue to grow! Congratulations, Murphy! You are one very deserving Dog of the Month!

If you're picturing a job where you get to hang out and play with dogs all dayā€¦ this probably isn't it. šŸ˜‚

Our daycare is training-based, and while you WILL spend your day caring for, supervising, training, and interacting with dogs, a HUGE part of the job is keeping our facility clean, sanitary, organized, and safe.

That means:
šŸ¶ Picking up p**p
šŸ§¼ Cleaning up accidents
šŸ§¹ Sweeping & mopping
šŸ§½ Disinfecting floors, gates, walls & surfaces
šŸ› Cleaning kennels, bowls & equipment
šŸ—‘ļø Keeping play areas clean throughout the day
āœØ Completing opening, closing & deep-cleaning tasks

Cleaning isn't an occasional responsibilityā€”it is an everyday, ongoing part of the job.

We're looking for someone who:
āœ”ļø Is dependable & punctual
āœ”ļø Works hard without needing to be constantly reminded
āœ”ļø Doesn't mind getting dirty
āœ”ļø Notices what needs to be done and DOES IT
āœ”ļø Is comfortable handling dogs of all sizes
āœ”ļø Can stay on their feet and active for 6+ hours
āœ”ļø Can lift up to 50 lbs
āœ”ļø Is willing to learn about dog behavior & training
āœ”ļø Works well as part of a team

Previous dog-care experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!

Our building has officially been delivered! šŸŽ‰ Seeing it arrive was such an exciting moment and a HUGE step forward in bringing this vision to life.

Weā€™re building something designed around what we love mostā€”quality training, individualized care, and giving dogs a safe place to stay and learn.

DOG OF THE MONTH: LUCY!

Our sweet Lucy has grown SO much since she first joined us, and we couldnā€™t be more proud of the confident, happy girl she has become!

Lucy is such a good-natured, mellow little lady. She has really come out of her shell here at daycare and has discovered just how much she LOVES training! Sheā€™s eager to learn, enjoys showing off her skills, and has become such a confident participant in everything we do.

And then thereā€™s her adorable little danceā€¦ If you give Lucy some pets, she does the cutest little wiggles and dances that will melt your heart every single time!

From finding her confidence to embracing training and making the most of her days with us, Lucy has made some incredible progress. Watching her personality blossom has been such a joy, and we are so lucky to get to be a part of her journey.

Congratulations, Lucy! You are one very special girl, and we are so proud to call you our Dog of the Month!

As bittersweet as this is... it's time to say goodbye (for now) to one of our own.

Eva is heading off to college, and while we couldn't be more excited for this next chapter in her life, we're going to miss her so much around daycare. From day one, Eva has been dependable, hardworking, and always willing to jump in wherever she was needed. The dogs adore her, our team loves her, and we're incredibly grateful for everything she's has done for Canine Communication. We know she's going to do amazing things, and she'll always have a place here. Good luck, Eva! We love you!

With Eva's departure, we're looking to add a new Daycare Team Member to our crew!

This time, we're looking for someone who already has animal experience. The right candidate will eventually be responsible for supervising dog play groups independently, so experience reading dog body language and managing groups of dogs is a must.

What you'll be doing:
šŸ¶ Supervising structured dog play groups
šŸŽ“ Assisting with group training (don't worryā€”we'll teach you our training methods!)
šŸ§¼ Cleaning... and then cleaning some more! Seriously, there's a LOT of cleaning.
ā¤ļø Providing safe, enriching care for every dog that walks through our doors.

Requirements:ā€¢ Previous animal experience (professional experience preferred)ā€¢ Comfortable being on your feet for 6+ hoursā€¢ Able to lift and carry 50 lbsā€¢ Reliable, hardworking, and a team playerā€¢ Passionate about dogs and willing to continue learningā€¢ Able to work shifts between 7am-630pm Monday through Friday (no weekends)

This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time career for the right person who wants it.

šŸ¾ Friendly Daycare Reminder! šŸ¾

For the safety of every dog in our care, all daycare dogs must wear a quick-release (breakaway) collar while attending daycare.

Dogs play hard, wrestle, and sometimes grab onto each other's collars during play. A quick-release collar is designed to come apart if it gets caught or another dog becomes tangled in it, helping prevent serious injuries or panic.

While we closely supervise every playgroup, accidents can happen in a split second. This simple piece of equipment adds an extra layer of safety and helps us keep playtime fun and worry-free for everyone.

If your pup arrives wearing a regular buckle, martingale, prong, choke, or slip collar, we'll ask that it be changed to a quick-release collar before joining the group.

Thank you for helping us create the safest possible environment for all of our daycare dogs!
