A few more finishing touches… but our barn is looking fabulous! Can’t wait to move the horses in and decorate! 💕

I know it’s still early but as of now everyone is making good decisions and respecting that I am supposed to be resting 😂 (now if my toddler could get the memo…)

I promise I am trying to take it easy… went to let the inside dogs out to potty and couldn’t resist checking on my tiny hellion pasture. Twister has stayed easy to catch since coming home and always comes to see if I have any snacks for him so if anything this is just good practice for when he eventually gets released back to gen pop 😂

I won’t lie. Today was one of those days that makes me want to sell every animal I own and buy a house in the suburbs and just have my cats 😅
Lucky for my herd they are cute and can easily convince me that the chaos is worth it, even if in the moment it’s hard to remember the “why”

Just some friendly reminders…

I only have two weeks left before I go on leave, then all scheduled lessons will be done by the other instructors. This will put a limit on the ability to reschedule, so please keep that in mind for the next few weeks!

We will close for winter break December 23rd. This will give our instructors and our horses some well deserved time off! Lessons will resume in February, unless we have an abnormally warm January which I doubt.

If you have holiday plans to be out of town for dates other than when we are closed, please let me know so I can add it to our schedule!

Thank you to all of our clients and your wonderful understanding, we couldn’t do this without you!

I am out sick this week… Didn’t stop me from playing with my pony Monday night.
And who can resist climbing on their horse while they’re laying down? Impossible. Charlie is always a good sport for me 💕

Chi Chi update 💕
She has an injured eye, but is letting me put ointment on it and is eating and drinking. She has taken to the baby chicks, and they definitely seem to like her too. She is thoroughly enjoying the heat lamp on this rainy day!
I am hopeful she makes a full recovery.

One of our broody turkey hens, Chive or as I call her, Chi Chi, was ganged up on while she was sitting on her nest by some of the younger turkeys. Unfortunately in her scramble to get away, she stepped on her eggs. She was weaker from sitting on eggs, and was losing the fight. It was 3 v 1 until one of our roosters stepped in and chased the little jerks away. I saw it happening but didn’t get there fast enough to help.

But! I did bring her to the house, where we have a pool of chicks one of the Polish hens hatched and abandoned immediately. Chive has been making happy chirps to the babies even though she doesn’t feel her best. Hopefully this cheers her up and she can focus on some R&R.

Also the little jerks might make some good Christmas dinners if anyone is interested 😑 they are fine for the most part, going after Chive is the first I’ve seen them act out. BIRD DRAMA
