“Zeva”
11yr AQHA mare DoILookTackyToYou out of First Down Dash and Okey Dokey Dale
Located in Murray, KY
The Good: Solid trail horse, rides in a group or solo. Not spooky, very sweet demeanor. Excellent for vet and farrier. Wonderful ground manners, has been used in a lesson program, birthday parties, has a history of barrel experience and was at one time “fancy” broke. Was riding really well when she was in consistent work, and just finished a short tune up with a trainer. I have been using her lightly in lessons at the walk/trot, and have been continuing her tune up rides at the w/t/c and she is doing well, just a little lazy if you let her be.
The Bad: Needs a consistent rider to be her best. I’d say an advanced beginner in lessons/with a trainer, or an intermediate rider would best suit her. She HAS bucked going into the canter if she lacks consistency or sits for a long time and you don’t warm her up properly. It’s not a bronc buck, literally a single buck picking up the canter.
She requires maintenance!! She gets stiff in her back end, regular chiro/PEMF or even stifle injections takes care of this and she is golden!
She requires shoes for trail riding. Is fine barefoot if not on a rocky pasture and just arena work.
She has been sitting for the better part of this summer, and has just started getting back into consistent work and is riding well.
Zeva’s ideal home would be a family horse with other horses. Take her for trails or a fun speed show and she will be excellent! Not ideal for a hard running barrel horse unless you really keep up with her maintenance.
This is sweet, honest mare and as much as I adore her, she is not what my lesson program needs.
She is listed at under mid fours, and negotiable for an uncomplicated sale.
She is UTD on everything and has a chiro appt on the 2nd, and ready for her new family after her appointment! Videos available!
