We had a confirmed Rabies positive bat 🦇 today in Gratiot County. Client found their cat with the live bat in their home and was unsure if the other cats came into contact with it. There is no cure for Rabies in people or animals. Please make sure to keep pets up to date on their Rabies vaccine.

Say hello to Lenny!! He visited today for a checkup with Dr. Genevieve.

Did you know that lizards and other exotic pets need regular veterinary visits just like dogs and cats? 🦎💚
Many reptiles are experts at hiding signs of illness, which means a problem can sometimes be advanced before you notice anything is wrong. Regular wellness exams allow us to monitor your pet’s health and catch potential concerns early.
During an exotic wellness visit, we can evaluate:
🦎 Weight and body condition
🥬 Diet and nutrition
🌡️ Temperature, humidity & habitat setup
🦴 Bones and overall development
👀 Eyes, mouth & skin
💩 Parasites and digestive health
❤️ Overall health and behavior
Proper husbandry is a huge part of keeping reptiles healthy. Even small changes in lighting, temperature, humidity, diet, or supplementation can make a big difference in their long-term health.
Whether you have a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, iguana, chameleon, tortoise, snake, or another exotic companion, routine veterinary care is an important part of responsible pet ownership.
💚 Don’t wait until your exotic pet looks sick. Preventive care can help them live a longer, healthier life!
