“What’s the one dog breed you’d never own?” I see this question posted on social media occasionally, and I always see ‘doodle of any kind’ listed as an answer. Lots of times it’s a groomer or a vet tech listing them.

I get it… When doodles got popular there were tons of backyard breeders seeing dollar signs flooding the market, and still do. Those breeders, and the people who end up with some of those pups are the reasons why they are on the list. Those dogs are not being health tested before they are bred. Those dogs are often bred with very little thought as to the type of pup the cross will produce. The only goal in mind is money, not to produce well rounded dogs with sound minds.

Those puppies are the ones that are giving Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles a bad rap, not the Goldendoodle in this picture. This one is a best friend, a companion, a confidant, an exercise buddy, an entertainer, a therapist, and a provider of undoubting, unconditional love. Those kind are the ones that we all want to own. ♥️
