Part 3: Ask the Pomsky & Arctic Spitz Experts: Why did my Pomsky get bigger than his littermates?? 🐾
Why can two Pomsky puppies from different litters look so different in size and features? Today, we’re comparing two sweet boys: Kaiden, the biggest puppy in Nicole’s litter at 8 weeks, and Jaden, the smallest in Nala’s litter at 9 weeks.
Kaiden is showing more of the larger look we often associate with Husky traits, while Jaden’s petite features and coat give him a more Pomeranian look. Their appearance can offer clues about the traits they inherited, but every puppy is unique, and size can’t tell us an exact DNA mix.
At 9 weeks, Jaden weighs about 4 pounds, and we estimate he may be around 9–12 pounds as an adult. And a quick reminder: Pomeranians can come in a range of sizes, too!
We also talk about a few practical things to consider with smaller dogs, including regular tooth brushing and whether puppy stairs might help them safely get on and off the couch or bed.
Watch the video and tell us: which boy looks more like a Husky, and which one has you seeing Pomeranian? 🐶
