With the candy bowl filling up, a quick reminder for pet families.

Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are all dangerous for pets, and candy wrappers can cause problems of their own. Keep the stash somewhere your pet cannot reach, and remind the kids to do the same.

If your pet gets into something they should not, call us right away at (610) 434-4470.

Exciting changes are coming to Allentown Animal Care! Beginning Monday, November 16th, our hospital will be undergoing renovations to improve our space and better serve our patients and clients.

🚧 During construction, we will be operating under a temporary curbside protocol.

When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in your vehicle and call our office to check in. A veterinary technician will speak with you to obtain your pet’s history before coming outside to es**rt your pet into the hospital.

Your veterinarian will perform the examination and call you to discuss findings, recommendations, and any necessary diagnostics or treatments. Our reception team will then contact you for payment, and a technician will bring your pet safely back to you.

πŸ—“οΈ Construction is currently expected to take place from November 16th through December 15th, although dates are subject to change.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work to make our hospital even better for you and your furry family members! πŸ’šπŸΆπŸ±

It is National Veterinary Technician Week and our techs are the heart of this place.

They comfort nervous patients, monitor anesthesia, are your lab-work technicians, surgical nurses, dental hygienists, and somehow still find a way to make everyone feel cared for, pets and people alike. We would be lost without them.

Have a tech here who has taken great care of your pet? Name them in the comments so we can pass it along.

Happy Global Cat Day to every cat and the people who serve them.

Cats are famously good at acting like nothing is wrong, even when something is. That quiet toughness is exactly why regular checkups matter so much for them, indoor cats included.

If it has been a while since your cat's last visit, call us at (610) 434-4470!

Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and it is a good reminder that those extra treats add up.

Carrying extra weight makes everyday movement harder on your pet and can affect their comfort and energy over time. The encouraging part is that small changes to food, portions, and activity really do make a difference.

Not sure where your pet stands? Call us to schedule a weight check and a nutritional consultation!

Costume planning season is officially here.

If your pet is dressing up, keep it comfortable and safe: nothing that limits movement, vision, or breathing, no small pieces they could chew off, and always supervise while it is on.

If your pet would rather skip the outfit, a festive bandana still earns full marks.

So tell us, what is your pet going as this year? We want to hear it in the comments.

Here is a quick one you can do at home... Gently lift your pet's lip and take a look!

Red gums, discolored teeth or breath you can smell from across the couch are all worth a call to your veterinarian. Dental issues are common and they are a lot easier to manage when caught early.

Ask us about a dental check. Call us at (610) 434-4470 today!

As the mornings get cooler, you might notice your older pet moving a little slower.

Stiffness after a nap, hesitation at the stairs, or less interest in a favorite game are all symptoms you should contact your veterinarian to discuss.

It is easy to write these off as just getting older, but there is often a lot we can do to help them feel better.

If your senior seems off lately, give us a call at (610) 434-4470!
