Murphy is gaining social skills with other dogs and has shown he loves to play with them! 😊🐾

He is available for adoption through Pitties And Pals Rescue NJ

🎓❤️ MURPHY IS OFF TO COLLEGE! ❤️🎓

Well… training college, but we’re pretty sure Murphy thinks it counts. 😂

We pulled Murphy on Monday, and in just a few short days at the boarding kennel, this boy has made SO much progress. We are already seeing a different dog, and today he takes the next big step: Murphy starts two weeks of professional training! 🙌

Murphy is about a little over a year old, energetic, playful, incredibly smart and VERY willing to learn. He already knows sit and down, his leash walking is improving, and his eye contact with his handler is fantastic.

He can still be unsure when meeting new people and sometimes uses his bark to say, “Hey, I’m not sure about you yet.” But give him a little time, patience and direction, and he settles in and starts showing you the sweet, goofy young Lab underneath.

He has successfully met another dog, although he’s an enthusiastic guy, so any canine sibling would need to be the right match for his energy. He is barky from a distance but that will be cleaned up.

For the next two weeks, Murphy is going to be working hard, learning new skills and building confidence. 🎓

But here’s where we REALLY need your help.

When Murphy “graduates,” he absolutely needs somewhere to go. We do not want all of this incredible progress to end without a foster or adopter ready to continue what he’s learned.

We’re looking for someone who can give him structure, consistency and the chance to keep becoming the amazing dog we already know is in there. Pitties & Pals will be there to support you, and everything needed for fostering is provided.

🏡 Foster or adopter needed within 60 minutes of Jackson, NJ

Murphy has two weeks to study hard. 📚😂 We have two weeks to find his next chapter.

Please share our college boy and help us make sure he has somewhere to go when he graduates. ❤️ No young kiddos and no cats.

💙 DRACO IS READY FOR HIS NEXT CHAPTER! 💙

Draco has been settling into his foster home since Tuesday, and we are SO happy with the progress this handsome boy is making. 🥹❤️

At almost 7 months old, he’s learning, gaining confidence and showing us more of who he really is every day. And seriously… LOOK AT HIM. 😍 His coloring and markings are absolutely incredible. He is one gorgeous boy!

Draco is also doing so much better with other dogs and continuing to make great progress with appropriate introductions. Little kids, however, make him nervous, so we’re looking for a home with adults or teenagers where he can feel comfortable and continue to thrive.

He’s young, smart, food motivated and ready for a family who will keep building on everything he’s learning. We think he’s ready to move into a foster to adopt home and start building a bond with the people who could become his forever family. 💙

Draco is up to date on vaccines and is scheduled to be neutered in September.

📍 We prefer placement within 60 minutes of Jackson, NJ.

🇺🇸 BEFORE LABOR DAY WEEKEND… PLEASE READ THIS FOR YOUR DOG.

“He never runs away.”
“She’s fine around people.”
“It’s only for a few minutes.”
“He’s never gotten into the trash before.”

Until the one time something goes wrong.

Holiday weekends mean open doors, backyard gates, unfamiliar guests, loud noises, BBQ food, hot pavement and changes to your dog’s normal routine.

A few simple choices can prevent an emergency.

🐾 CHECK THE COLLAR
Make sure your dog is wearing a secure collar with an ID tag and that their microchip information is current.

🚪 WATCH THE DOOR & GATE
One guest who doesn’t know your routine can accidentally let your dog out. If people are coming and going, give your dog a safe, secure place away from entrances.

🎆 DON’T WAIT FOR FIREWORKS
You may not be planning fireworks. Your neighbors might be. Bring dogs inside before dark and leash them for potty breaks if there’s noise nearby. If your dog struggles with noise or anxiety, talk with your veterinarian ahead of time and follow their recommendations.

🌭 WATCH THE BBQ
Bones, corn cobs, skewers, onions, grapes/raisins, chocolate, alcohol and foods containing xylitol can be dangerous. And don’t forget the trash. A bag full of leftovers can be irresistible to a dog.

☀️ IT’S STILL HOT
Keep fresh water and shade available. Check the pavement before walks and never leave your dog in a parked car.

💦 SUPERVISE AROUND WATER
Pools, boats, lakes and the ocean aren’t automatically safe just because your dog can swim.

❤️ AND PLEASE REMEMBER THIS:

Your dog does NOT have to come to the party.

If crowds, kids, unfamiliar dogs or loud noises make them uncomfortable, letting them relax safely at home isn’t mean.

It’s knowing your dog.

Labor Day weekend should end with everyone safe and accounted for. ❤️

SAVE this before the weekend.
SHARE it with another dog owner.

One reminder could prevent a lost dog or an emergency this weekend. 🐾
