Fingers crossed for our first Mini Nubians next year! ETA on babies (Nubians for sure, Nigerians still TBD, Jan. 25th). I will blood test everyone early this year to make sure last year doesn’t repeat itself. Anywho, back to what I was saying, Koko has been bred to Odin! Since Koko is a 98% ADGA registered grade Nubian and not purebred, we thought why not try for our first Cedar Gables minis with our ADGA purebred Nigerian, Odin. I have to warn you, these could be the absolute cutest babies we’ve seen to date. I’ll post blood test results in about 30-40 days.🤞💖🥰

Our smallest farmhand crossed the rainbow bridge today. We love you so much, Leesi girl. We’re going to miss you more than we can say. We hope you get to chase all the chickens. 🩵

Walked out tonight to the loss of a farm legend. This one hurts. Broodie (lovingly named by one of my students, Brutus) was the star of our barn. One big fluffy love Cochin mix that ate way too much cat food and stole too many hearts. She greeted us every day as she was one of our few loose barn chickens who lived life roaming free 24/7. She was hatched in my classroom in 2022 and would have been 5 this winter. She died doing her favorite thing, eating. It makes me smile because my big girl always loved her special treats. Keith went out in the dark just now with the headlamp and buried her with cupcake zinnias I clipped from the gardens. Cupcake zinnia for my sweet treat girl. Love you Broodie and will miss seeing you every day. Thanks for being the sweetest, fluffiest, biggest feather b***y bbygirl the farm ever had. 💖🥺💖
