TCAP hosts a Free Fix Day on Wednesday, February 26.

During our Free Fix Days, TCAP offers FREE sterilization and rabies vaccines for feral and community cats (not pets). This event will take place at seven TCAP clinics: Allen, Arlington, Denton, Fort Worth, Garland, Hurst, and Joshua! 75 cats will be seen at each location on a first-come, first-served basis.

There’s no limit on the number of cats per caregiver, and no appointment is required. Cats must arrive in individual live traps or pet carriers, and all cats will receive an ear tip.

Each cat accepted will receive a voucher for a free spay/neuter for another cat at a future date. Trap One, Get One! You will be able to make an appointment for a free feral spay or neuter at a future date using the voucher you receive. This voucher also includes a rabies vaccine.

Please stay in line if you are outside of the first 75 cats. Our team will provide one voucher per cat present for sterilization vaccine for the next 75 cats! You will be able to make an appointment for a free feral spay or neuter and rabies vaccine at a future date using the voucher you receive. Only those already in line with cats will receive the voucher.

The line cuts off no later than 9 am!

Important Notes:
*Any additional fees for in-heat, cryptorchid, or pregnancy procedures will be covered by TCAP
*Caretakers will be responsible for any additional elective services such as vaccines, pain medication, or viral testing at the time of service
*Cats must be presented in live traps or pet carriers

🧨 Quick reminder about Fireworks safety for your pets this week!
🎆 Have a Happy 4th from our pack to yours!

This Independence Day, our furry guests staying with us will receive the utmost care, while those who aren't boarding can keep their pets safe with these helpful tips. Celebrate responsibly with fireworks and keep your pets, both dogs and cats, safe:

1. Keep your pets inside to protect them from loud noises and bursts. Create a calm environment with background noise like TV or radio, or find a quiet spot to comfort them.
2. Distract your pets with toys and treats to divert their attention. Offer their favorite toys or prepare frozen treats to keep them engaged.
3. Consult your vet for advice if your pets are severely distressed by fireworks. They may recommend medications or techniques to alleviate anxiety.
4. Practice fireworks safety at home by cleaning up debris and ensuring your pets are safely contained away from the fireworks.
5. Ensure your pets' IDs are up to date, including collars and tags. Consider microchipping as a reliable way to reunite with them if they get lost.

🎇 Friendly reminder before the festivities begin over the next few weeks. These suggestions apply to all events. We will be posting some 4th of July tips, soon, to make sure all of our fur friends are safe and as anxiety free as possible! 🐱🐶

🐾 ATTENTION PET OWNERS! Due to expected high temperatures, crowds, and noise of the Fireworks Finale display, we encourage you to leave your furry friends at home. Here's why:

🔥 EXCESSIVE HEAT: Allen USA can be scorching! Temperatures soar, and pavements can turn into blistering surfaces. Dogs are highly susceptible to heatstroke and paw pad burns. Protect them from potential harm by providing a cool and comfortable environment indoors.

👨‍👩‍👦 LARGE CROWDS: Allen USA attracts thousands of people. Crowded spaces can be stressful for dogs, causing anxiety and fear. The noise and commotion can easily overwhelm them, leading to panic or aggressive behavior. Avoid subjecting your dog to unnecessary stress by keeping them in a calm and familiar environment.

These 3 “Polar Bears” are close to celebrating their 1 year anniversary of being part of the Wadey Bunch Pack and we absolutely love them! Their mom sent us a picture of these smiling cuties on their way over.

We love hearing the pitter-patter of paws on our front door as they run to their second home and favorite staycation spot! Getting to know your fur baby’s personality while playing and cuddling is our favorite thing!
