I have experience working with dogs like Cooper, who are cautious and challenging to trust, particularly when it comes to protecting their home. During our initial meeting, Cooper chose not to let me walk him, which was not unexpected. After conferring with his owner, we decided that incorporating Nana into the process would be beneficial. As expected, Nana's participation proved invaluable in helping Cooper feel more secure. By the second day, Cooper was comfortable walking with me without Nana's assistance. Although he exhibited breed-specific traits, such as excessive barking, due to his discomfort with me entering his home, he gradually became more confident. Through positive reinforcement, praise, and rewards, Cooper developed trust in me, and the intense barking dissipated.
