It's Vet Tech Appreciation Week.

I am a licensed veterinary technician even though I am not working in private practice, or government, or anything else.

But I can still advocate for my fellow techs!

Go appreciate your vet techs this week! A veterinarian has a hard time doing their job most efficiently without them! Ask any vet how critical the role is in the vet office, I don't know any that would say they aren't needed. And if they do, they have an ego problem.

Say thank you, a card, and a hug is the best. We don't need sweets, food or gifts (But they are appreciated!!!) but to know we are actually thought about, helps.
Veterinary medicine are the most underappreciated medical careers. Vets and vet techs have a high rate of s*icide because of how hard, underappreciated and demanding everyone is. Understand it is not run like your doctor's office. Unless you pay for animal insurance, it will be expensive. They do know what they are doing and they want to help.
