Sweet Marlin came to see me after suffering a soft tissue injury a few weeks ago. His primary veterinarian had already started him on pain medication, and he also received two cryotherapy treatments during the first week after his injury (those treatments were not provided by me).
I then saw him once a week for three weeks for Class IV laser therapy while he remained on restricted activity. I’m happy to report he’s now feeling great and is ready to get back to all of life’s adventures! 🐾
So how does laser therapy help? Class IV laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that pe*****te deep into the tissues. The light energy is absorbed by the cells, helping to increase cellular energy (ATP production), improve circulation, reduce inflammation, decrease pain, and accelerate tissue repair. By supporting the body’s natural healing process, laser therapy can often help patients recover more comfortably and efficiently.
Every patient and injury is different, so treatment plans are tailored to each pet’s needs. It’s always rewarding to see them get back to doing what they love! 💙
