THE HEALING POWER OF A PURR
There’s something incredibly comforting about having a cat curled up beside you and science is beginning to explore why that gentle purr feels so soothing.
Cats commonly purr at low frequencies, often reported within roughly 20–150 Hz. Research has explored whether vibrations within portions of this range may have biological effects related to bone and tissue health, although it’s important to note that this does not mean a cat’s purr has been scientifically proven to heal injuries or increase bone density in humans.
What we do know is that sharing our lives with cats can provide something equally meaningful: companionship, relaxation, comfort, and those quiet moments that help the world feel a little less stressful.
At The Katz Meow Cattery, this is why we believe British Shorthairs are so much more than beautiful cats. Their calm presence, affectionate personalities, and unmistakable rumbling purrs have a special way of making a house feel like home. 🐾✨
Sometimes the best medicine is simply having someone furry beside you.
